Every time I start my car it needs to idle down. also, as it is idling down, the oil pressure falls to where it should be. This process takes between 5 and 10 minutes depending on the weather. (The colder it is, the longer it takes). I have friends with dsm's and they don't have this problem, nor do they understand why I do. I figured this problem would cease with the arrival of warm weather, but I still have to sit and wait EVERY TIME.
I have many mods, but before I list every one of them, can someone give me some insight to a possible problem? If a mod list is needed, please don't hesitate to tell me.

thanks in advance.

Try adjusting your idle screw. My car idles high until it warms up too. I just got used to it.
Also if you dont just want to get used to it test your ISC.

I experienced the same problem, but i also get a check engine light until i touch the gas pedal. It ended up being a bad TPS. After the 5 to 10 minutes you wait does it sure or is the idle normal?

Then i'd go with what whiplash said, check out the ISC. If that doesn't help then you may need a new TPS to.

same problem here, i got a 95 tsi fwd auto, it idles around 1500-2000 and then goes down but kinda creeps up to 1500 again and sometimes above that a lttle but never over 2000. before i did have to wait (in cold weather) for it to warm up and idle normal but now i think something needs to be replaced. you guys said it could be the ISC or the TPS, where are those located and what do they stand for? thanks guys :thumb:

i have the same problem but mine stay's with me. and when it's not idling high its low like around 1/2 way between 0 & 1 & my check engine light just lit up today out of noware when i was waiting for my food @ sonic

When you touch the gas pedal does the light go away? Thats what mine did and when i installed my logger the diagnostic told me that my TPS was bad.

ha, my check engine light when on out of nowhere too driving normal speed limit (45) and out of nowhere. thats why i was concerned. also if its not the ISC then wheres the TPS located at? thanks
