Ok, I did search this topic, but didnt find a good enough answer to solve my problem. First off ill say, I own a 1997 eclipse gs-t sypder, with 139k miles on the engine, using a 7 bolt.Ever since last night, when i was doing peel outs in the back of a mall loading center, my car has been acting a little funny.

If im at a light, sitting in neutral, and i rev it to say about, 2k rpm, and let it go, my car will actually hit like 0 rpms, and it sound like it stalls, and than goes right back on a second later. My car currently is ideling around, 500 rpm? Im not sure if thats a normal range to idle. But everytime i rev it in neutral, it drops to 0.. or realllllly low, under 100.

Second, my car is stalling. For example, tonight when i was cruising in the movie parking lot,do find a spot to park, i was in 2nd gear, gettin rdy to park (Yes i was moving). I held in the clutch as i started to turn, and it just stalled. I had the clutch in and everything. This just started, i havent changed the way i parked or anything.Another time tonight, i was turning into the park, i was in 2nd again, cruising while the cars passed, and soon i went to take off, it stallled. I know im not letting the clutch out to fast or anything. Im not sure if my clutch is slipping or what?

Please fill out your vehicle profile so we know what modifications you have. It helps save time so we don't have to ask you a million things before we get an accurate diagnosis.

For example, several people find that lightweight aluminum flywheels will give stalling issues due to rapid RPM drop-off, such as clutching, free-revving, etc.

If you have a logger, what does your logger say is going on? If you don't have a logger, get one as soon as possible.

Stop doing burnouts.

Try adjusting your idle. You said it was low.

And doing burnouts in the parking lot... is really not that cool.

not its not, only did a few. Kinda one of those things where my friends kept wanting to see what i had.

I dont have a logger, where can i get one? Btw im only 18.

My car has always idled around 500, after it was warmed up and stuff. When i rev it a little in neutral, it would always go down to like 200, and go back to 500, but it would never hit 0, and kinda stall for a sec, and restart itself. The stalling tho.. never happened before. Besides the first day i got the car and was a noob at stick :)

I know as in my other thread, my check engine light did come on last night, got a diagnostic of it, its a fuel trim malfunction in bank 1. Guy said i need some 02 sensor.

Guys, i know burnouts suck. I did 2 quick ones so friends would shut up about seeing what i had LOL.

Yeah, i always thought it idled low.. what do you guys suggest it being around?

any other suggestions about the stalling thing, or why on earth it dropped to like 0?

stock idle is 750rpms warmed up...

not sure why is started to act like that. (if this happened tonite, maybe things will be different tomorrow)...

wouldnt hurt to check your sparkplugs either...

I would try messing with the BISS screw quick to see if that changes anything or if its been tampered with before.

But remember the ECU always tries to aim for 750 so unless you have a chip reburned or a standalone or DSMlink, etc... it should always be 750 +- 50 RPM.

i believe its ## MAF. check if ## intake came loose. that happened to me and when i poped the hood i say that my intake was just slightly out of the cuppling which caused the MAF to mess up and my car would stall and when i reved it would die when i let out or just get to really low rpms.

Im having this same problem! i can barely rev my car to 2500 then let it drop an it will either stall or come close to it....i replaced my MAS, my TPS and i do not have any vacume leaks. what else can i do? its making daily driving suck! Do you think it could be the mas harness that is going bad?
