ok i put my car in the shop for a timing belt not too long ago, and upon getting it out of the shop my car now idles at about half way between 0 and 1000rpms at a dead stop. When I turn the a/c on at a stop and the idle is low, the car will eventually start bogging hard acting like it is about to cut off and i have to shut the car off and back on to get the idle back. (I guess this is due to the fact that the a/c is taking alot of power and making the idle go REALLY low down to like 200-300rpms and the engine doesnt know what to do) I say that because once I am on the highway I can turn the a/c on just fine with no problems because the rpms is high enough. So my question is do you think my idle is set wrong because I have read that cars have idle switches that allow you to raise the idle or lower it a little. Could this be my problem or do you think it is something bigger?

I had the same problem with my Talon, but mine's a 1g. Even if I didn't turn the a/c on, it would eventually just start stalling on me when I came to stop, usually after about 5 mins of driving first. However, it did happen quicker when I turned the a/c on or my stereo up. I tried many ways to fix this, and now I'm kicking myself in the ass. The whole time all I needed was a new battery. Go figure.

any other ideas as to what it might be? i think my battery is good to go because it didnt start doing this until i got it back from the shop.

Check your ISC, also called the IAC. When my Talon did the same thing, I found that the ISC had a bad coil.

Id second this. 2gs they tend to go out from 80k and up. Usually you can pull the connector, the car should die. If it doesnt, you could have a shot ISC. Check the resistance on the connectors if pulling the connector does nothing. Its not the greatest news if they go out b/c i think they are rather pricey, but its not a hard install.
