Before i bought my new car i had it checked out at Torque Freaks in Portland. I was told the car needed a new idle control motor becuase it will idle from 750 to around 1300rpm. If i dont get a new one will it hurt the motor? thanks

Yes, it could also mess up the ECU if I remember correctly. I will try to find the thread and post it up for you.

Is this the same as the ISC? That is conneceted to the throttle body?

I'm curious to know how not replacing it could damage the motor? It just makes the idle unstable and have a CEL?

I have no clue what ISC and CEL are but the idle doesn't stay above 1k, it will idle below 1k then jump up to around 1300rpm for a few moments. thanks

What you're looking for is the ISC. It bolts to the back side of the throttle body (near the firewall). As mentioned, failure to replace can eventually fry the ECU and picking up a few from a junkyard is always a good idea in case you get some crappy ones.

Don't forget to disconnect the batter after you're done swapping them so that the ECU can reset.
