Well, I went racing yesterday. Against an Aurora... :notgood: ...mis-shifted from a light...*sigh*...Oh well.

Anyhow, I noticed a couple of issues after racing. First, at idle, it wants to die on me. It wasn't doing that before the race, but even this morning after it warmed up, it didn't want to stay at idle. During acceleration and regular driving, it drives fine. Once I come to a stop with the clutch in or in neutral, it wants to die. Now I read around that it could be the fuel filter (I think). Did I read those couple of threads right?

Also, I'm now getting a weird BOV sound. It sounds louder than normal, and it appears to have a fluttering sound. Did I break it, or maybe blew a hose off or something?

Any help would be great guys. Thanks.

if your BOV is louder, then you probably blew off the recirculation hose that goes from the BOV to the intake tube.. i would inspect that first.

as for your idle, it could be a number of things, i wouldn't isolate it just yet to the fuel filter, but start with checking that tube first.

OK great. I will definitely check out the hose when I get home today. Thanks for everything.

This is also why your car wants to die. Your car is running rich if the recirculation hose is not on. This is due to the fact that the MAS air flow sensor is reading a certain amount of air that is going into the turbo and adding fuel accordingly. If you dont have that hose on then you leak out air that has allready been measured by the MAS air flow sensor. so it is either that hose of some leak in you intercooler pipes. Most likely it is you recirc hose though :thumb:

Ok, so I replaced the tube on the intake hose and the BOV, and now the car won't idle. It just slowly lowers the RPM until it dies off. :sosad: I have to constantly feather the throttle in order to keep the car alive. WTF could be wrong? Starting to get aggrivated.

Chris.

*Edit* FYI, when I'm driving, whether normally or aggressively, it drives fine.

when does this happen? when you just start your car up or after its been running for awhile? Also it could be your o2 sensor but since you car drives fine during normal conditions that probably isn't the problem. 1st off, is your check engine light on. If it is, then you should have someone scan your ECU, also when you are getting it scanned check your o2 volts, see what they read. After you do all this you can try resetting your ECU since it may still remember that you hose flew off and it is still trying to compensate. You can reset your ECU by unhooking the negative battery cable and turning on your headlights. this will drain the remaining power out of the ECU. :thumb: Try these things first.

It happens any time I let it idle. No check engine lights, only the coolant level light that just came back on. I was thinking that resetting the ECU may work, but I was too lazy to try it. I'll do that today then...

Thanks.
