I've just recently installed a new MBC, and in turn had to install a boost gauge (obviously). I more recently had to install an ISC due to idle surge. My car has always had low idle problems, and sometimes on start, the car will surge at extremely low RPMs (around 200) and gradually increase to around 600 where it's somewhat stable.

Right after I installed the MBC and boost gauge, I got good vaccum readings (-15, like people say it's supposed to be at). Now, it generally reads around -18 or -20. Plus, after I upped my boost to about 14 psi, my BOV adjustment screw (it's a Type-S) leaks (I did a boost leak test) and at mild boost (generally around 4000 RPMs and 5 psi) I get a high pitched squealing sound. At WOT, my boost likes to spike to around 18 psi and goes back down fairly quickly.

Could the leak in my BOV be attributed to any/all of my problems?

Oh, and please excuse my excessive use of parentheses ;)

i would suggest fix the obvious, fix the boost leak and recurculate the BOV (if it isnt already). because according to your profile since you are all stock for the most part every little boost leak is going to cause problems with your MAF. fix the leaks get everything set up right and properly adjust your idle. that might fix most your problems. :laser:

My car did something simler and my bov was leaking so i put a couple of washers in it to tighten the spring and my problems went away

Ugh... It never ends!

I went to take out the adjustment screw yesterday and when I got the screw all the way out, the threads on the BOV came with it >_< Now, not only do I have a leak, my boost is currently un-regulated. Could I tap new threads into the BOV, or would it behoove me to just buy another one... ?
