Ok, I got a set of used injectors (RC 550's) and 2 of them don't have the top plastic "o-ring holder" thing (left injector in picture). Where can I find this piece? What is it called?

I needed those as well. I went to mistubishit and told them i needed the grommits on the end of the injectors..for the ends that sit in the intake manifold. they are about the size of a dime and made out of a hard rubber material. the set of 4 was like $2

So are these pieces on the stock injectors??? I thought they were just pieces that were on my RC's, but if they are on the stock injectors that should make it much easier. Can someone verify that they are in fact on the STOCK injectors as well?

yes they are on the stock injectors as well as aftermarket. they keep the injector positioned in the manifold. i got some from a mitsubishi dealer for super cheap. the old ones end up cracking. dont forget the respect points please@!! thanks man.

I don't know what your thinking of but the part Steve needs is specific to the RC injectors since the OEM parts have a machined recess for the fuel rail o-ring. Like these.

I suspect your thinking about the injector insulator that fits in the head and the injector pintle/pintle cap fits in it.

Ok... I have a set of injectors out of another car that are machined like that, and I was hoping that the stock ones in my car had those things... That sucks. Well, in that case, does anyone know where I can get a set of those for cheap?

The obvious answer is to call RC Engineering on Monday and get them to send you what you need. I doubt it's going to be more than $10.

Ok, from what I've heard this piece really doesn't serve much of a purpose except to hold on the O-ring... Will there be any problems with functionality if I don't put this piece back on? It doesn't look as though it is completely necessary as the O-ring will provide all of the seal. Will there be any side effects?

one side effect...when you pull the injectors out down the road the o-ring will probably stay in the fuel rail, however, you should just call RC and just get the correct parts.
