 What is the hole on the left of the exhaust port back by the valve. I saw this when I took off my friends manifold. Just curious what it is for or its purpose for being there. It's in the fourth runner near the trans side.
Thanks

You are 100% correct, that is the egr port. If you take the intake manifold off you will see where it goes completely through the head, and into the intake manifold and into the egr valve.

Also it looks like that head could use some nice new valves and guides. or just a good cleaning. Alot of carbon build up if you ask me.

The head has got 35000 miles on it I thought it had a lot of carbon as well. Is there any good way of cleaning that area without getting something in the cylinders. I was thinking about using a vac while I used a dremal tool to clean out the ports.Good or not?

Also does it look like this head is ported mildly. Bottom to highest top point is 1.25 in.
The gasket that was on it looks like it should be for a 1.5 in port I trying to get info on this if you can tell the diffrence from a ported head and stock.
