Would you guys choose a $3100 '93 Talon Tsi AWD M/T with 153k miles and the following mod list:

Free Mods w/ K&N filter
Autometer 30-0-20 boost guage in a-pillar
Apexi N1 Cat-back
ACT 2600 clutch
Kyb AGX's all around
Progress Sport Springs w/front strut tower brace
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Joe P. MBC
Symbroski shift kit

or a 2G GS-T with either no or little mods for at or under $5000?

I know the lack of description for the GST is annoying, but to be honest I'm wondering if I should wait around for the GST or get the Talon..

Also, I was wondering how much of a difference do you think the couple hundred pounds make (as in btw a FWD and a AWD..)

There are those who enjoy FWD and it suits them very well, however, I have seen alot of people buy a GST then a few months down the road want a GSX. This list includes my self, so I would say get what you really want the first time and be done with it.

I loved my 97 GS-T. I never had any major problems with it and the body style was my favorite to date. But, I eventually found myself wanting an AWD.

I would go for the 1g AWD...but it's all a matter of preference and what your goals are.

You obviously want the body style of a 2g because you would of taken the AWD already no questions asked if that wasn't the case so why not just save some more money and get a 2g AWD, I know you can find ones w/100-125k miles and modded for about 5500-7000.

Actually, I haven't bought it yet because I haven't had time to go check out the car and get it checked out by a mechanic. But I have some free time coming so I'm wondering if I should spent my time checking out a 1G or a 2G. Yes I do like the body style of the 2G better than the 1G, but I also really enjoy driving.

One thing I was wondering however, is that I'm not only a dragger. I like to drive around up in the hills near my house and they are very twisty. I was wondering if a GST would be better for that or if an AWD would still perform better. Also I need to take into account whether or not I'm willing to take a non modded car that's around 1k-2k more than a modded car that doesn't look as nice. I'd need to spend a good deal of money to get the 2G modded to the extent the 1G is (albeit it isn't modded *that* much).

Anyways, thanks for your guys opinions..I still have a few days to go..hopefully they won't be sold yet..

Oh yeah, about saving more money..I *neeeeed* a car..I can't wait

1) AWD will almost always out-perform FWD around corners.
2) Dragging from a stop, AWD will win on the launch, but the fwd will start catching up in higher gears because of less weight/power-loss
3)From a roll, FWD will have the advantage for the same reason it'll start to catch up ^^^.

Ugh, I just found out that the AWD is a salvage title. I'm thinking that I should be worried about that. However, apparently it passed brake/light inspection etc. with the previous owner. What exactly does that mean? All I know is that a salvage title is not a good thing, however I don't know if it's that bad of a thing..should I go for it, try and talk down the price or just skip it altogether?

Also I'm a lil worried about what I see in this pic..
