IC Piping

I've been looking into roadrace's upgrade path for my 2g. One thing is troubling me, the order it goes in is Intake/exhaust/Free mods/ then it has Upper and Lower IC piping... My question is: If I get the Upper and Lower IC piping, will I need to get different piping AGAIN when I eventually buy a FMIC?

It depends what fmic you get. If you get short route piping or the regular longer route piping. Either way, If you get a fmic, You will need to adapt pieces onto your ic piping in order for it to get to the fmic.

New lower pipe, most likely. New upper pipe, most likely not. The RRE upper pipe should go to the stock ic location, so if you get a front-mount later, just run the passenger pipe to meet up with the RRE pipe.

So what your saying is that If I get Dejon IC pipes now... to go to my stock SMIC, then later when I go with an RRE FMIC I can reuse the Upper Pipe? But doesnt the RRE kit include everything? So in essence I wouldnt need the Dejon pipes? Or can I tell RRE that I already have the Upper pipe and I get a "cheaper" price.

If you get an upper ic pipe now that meets up with the stock intercooler, then that pipe will still work later as long as you run the front-mount's passenger-side pipe to that same location where the stock ic used to be. If you wind up getting a short-route front-mount, then trying to run the pipe to that location would take away the point of short-route piping in the first place, but take a look around and see how many short-route intercoolers are out there. Not too many, but if you think you'd get one, then you have a tougher decision to make now.

My car has an old-school HKS upper intercooler pipe on it. It was on there with the stock ic, it was on there with the Supra ic, and it's still on there with the front-mount.

I wouldn't bother changing the lower ic pipe until you get some kind of upgraded intercooler anyway.

As for what RRE does or doesn't include in the kit or what they will or will not remove from the kit, I think you'll have to ask them about that.
