IAC motor

hey guys.

i pulled my iac motor out and tested it with a 6 volt battery, it seemed to be working like the haynes book said, but i tested it with an ohmmeter and it said 44 ohms, which is almost double what it should be. the reason i checked it is because im trying to get my 1g to idle smoother. should i replace the motor?

The vfaq.com says it should be at 28-32, however i got an ISC from the junkyard and it reads the same as yours 40-44 and my idle is perfect never loping or surging.

do you have any idle vibration?

Depending on the temp of the ISC, it can vary quite a bit. As long as its reading the same along all coils, its fine (unless all coils are reading nothing )

Idle vibration or idle fluctuation? I have alot of vibration because of prothane motor mounts but my idle stays constant and isnt jumpy at all at a stop.

i have a good idle except for vibration, when i hold the wheel i can see my arms shaking. and if i lean on the car when its running i can feel it, what should i do to try and fix this? could it be my isc motor?

Are you running stock?

Could be a broken balance shaft belt or busted motor mounts. Might wanna check that out

im completely stock, so you guys don't think it could be the isc motor having a hard time keeping air flowing through? does the pinnel move back and forth rapidly or does it just push out and go back in allowing less or more air through?

ill check the motor mounts. i also have a popping sound at idle coming out of the exhaust and it makes the exhaust rattle. it also does it when i let off the gas while im gear and as it's revving down i can hear it popping or sputtering. i dont know if that could be linked to the problem

Doesnt sound like a bad ISC to me the popping of the exhaust is common of the nt Just giver a tune up and some basic maintenence and see what that does.

Actually, popping of the exhaust is due to an exhaust leak someplace. Where does the popping sound like it's coming from? Oh, don't forget to take a look at your timing belt.

i cant really tell where the sound is coming from but the exhaust leak sounds very probable, ill try to find it.
