IAC and knock CEL's. Help please!

So the other day I took the mitsu out for a drive and next thing I know the car threw a CEL so I ran to autozone to have it ran and it was P0505 & P0325. IAC and knock sensor. Well what I was needing to know was how do I test them to see if their good or not? If you guys need more info on what the car is doing that will help you guys out let me know. Thank you in advance for the help!

Thank you! Ok I will. I read somewheres that the tan isc's are notorious for going bad. Which that's the one I have. So I'm debating on just replacing it anyways but I just don't know if I should trust the duralast one from autozone.

Ok so the isc is reading 29-30.7 ohms on all pins. Now what??

2G BISS Adjustment. i would adjust the biss screw. If it isn't set up correctly it can throw a code because it causes the isc to be out of range. Do you have an idle surge? If the isc tests good, it probably is good.

I do have an idle surge. When the car is at operating temperatures it idles at 1,198+-10rpm

I have messed with the sas and I guess where it needed to be so I am wondering if that's my issue that I have it adjusted to far in. I doubt I have a way to get my hands on that diagnostic tool that it requires. One of the reasons why I was thinking that I should replace the isc anyways is because the little plus sign on the tip is mushroomed out and right below the tip where it can slide in it is slanted ( on the plastic ) so I was thinking that with it being wore out its causing to much air flow. So I was gonna go to a junkyard today and see if they might have one that costs less than $30.
I also made a boost leak tester yesterday so I will do a boost leak test on it today as well.

It wouldn't hurt to try a new isc, just make sure you check the coils on it before you buy it. And your idle is too high. Screw the biss all the way in and back out 1 1/2-2 turns and just adjust slightly from there and see if it brings your idle down. It could also be a problem with your fiav. There is a free fix for that. I just had to do it to mine. I will post the link to that in a minute.

Ok will do. Ok I will reset my sas and tps then adjust my BISS. If none of that helps I will do the block off for the fiav which seems simple enough.

I couldn't even fully get into my boost leak test. I couldn't even get psi past the turbo outlet . The outlet coupling was leaking and so is my MBC :-/

Your mbc should vent anytime it gets to the point where it opens. If it doesn't vent, you can get compressor surge and ruin your turbo

Oh ok i did not know that . Well at least I know it's ok. But should it vent before I get 2lbs on the system?

So I pulled the throttle body off to reset the sas and tps well I had the sas turned enough to touch the throttle lever. It's now set to the specs that the BISS page you sent said to. After I pulled the throttle body off I was looking to see where the knock sensor plugs in and well it wasn't even plugged in so hopefully that fixes that problem now that it's plugged in. Once I finish doing my blt I will start the car and set the BISS. I had to get a 2"x1 1/2" coupling to replace the turbo outlet coupling I just need to get it put back on so I can finish checking for leaks.

It should only vent when it reaches the pressure that you have it set to open the wastegate. Sounds like you at least found the knock sensor issue, .
