2915 w/o me in it and 3/4 tank of gas. 91 gsx.

How does this compare?? to stock, and other cars. I have NOTHING in the back 1/2 of my car. It's stripped down to the core back there. No A/C compressor/lines/condensor/a/c bracket ect. manual steering rack. stock 16s. uuuuhhh what else affects the wieght that people might want to know......

I want to make it lighter, but I don't see anything else simple enough for what I want. I'm not ready to pull the dash. I still would like a pass seat. And I think I still want carpet in the front half. For now.

A guy I work with has scales for his dirt track car.
I need to go put my evo on them and see how much that heavy bastard wieghs.

find a carbon fiber hood trunk deck. A buddy of mine UTI auto body grad took one of my fenders and made a mold out of it and made a fiberglass fender. Light weight wheels. 100lbs =.10 sec in 1/4 mile times.

Carbon fiber hood is a really good first start. Fenders you won't loose that much weight but still every little bit helps. Smaller battery is another thing people do.

Oh yeah, I still have both crash beams. And they will stay. Not willing to do that yet either.

There was a scale under each wheel, and the fronts were in the 800-900, and both the rear wheels were in the 500s.
I remember the drivers side on both the front and rear wieghed more than the pass side.

I know there's more wiehgt reduction to be done. I'v done a little searching. But this is all I want to do for now.
I may get lighter wheels, carbon fiber hood. And maybe a hatch, but I'd be afriad of it not fitting well.

If it doesn't fit quite right, bring it into a body shop and get them to bake your car in the boothe for a bit. My buddy did that with his srt-4. At first you could see his engine through the hood seem, after it was so flush it was ridiculouse.

I would be willing to get light seats too. I think I'm going to spend some money on some more go fast parts, then maybe spend some money on making it lighter.

I wouldn't even know where to start looking for seats. Do people make brakets in install different seats in these cars??

Most guys buy seat and fab. custom bracket. Or fab. adapters to use with the oe brackets. Personally i like guys who fab. their own brackets, usually it fits better and if you use the right material your removing even more weight.

Ben I have the megan racing seats. I got one from a group buy and the other off an offer I made on ebay. Then I went to wedge or sbr and got brackets from them. Still cost a decent amount in the end. The brackets are $99 each WTF

Also DOT stations have scales. You can just drive up on it even when they're closed. Just go look at the read out through the window. I'm sure not all of them are that easy but I'm sure some are.

I'm interested in the seats now. But I still want a new turbo. I need something bigger than a 16g.
