I want to upgrade my turbo, which one has crazy power but can still be daily driven?

Alot of people have ran very fast on 550s & a 20g. Alot of times if you go w/ a larger injector then you can't get it lean enough on race gas to get the max HP.

As far as turbos you should consider 50, 57 trim from t3/t4 or cheaper "green" With the right tuning and right setup the green will spool up by 3600-3700 and you will have a lot of boost till the redline...If you are really serious..go with Garret. I am gettin rid of my green and gettin ball bearing 62-1
good luck on your car

i just noticed that in the picture in your post there is a "past due" bill... i dunno just thought it was interesting.

OK, everyone take a look at this thread to find out how it went wrong and learn from it.

The queation was "I want to upgrade my turbo, which one has crazy power but can still be daily driven?

Although the title of the thread and the question asked in the thread are some what conflicting, it should be rather easy to answer.

This is not a debate over which is better, a t3/t4 or 20g!

The correct reply should be;

Any of these will bolt up to your existing manifold & downpipe with little or no major issues with plenty of performance gains.

FP Green - a little pricey, but makes crazy power.
AGP L1 - affordable crazy power
SBR 20g - simplest to install, good power.
t3/t4 hybrid - most .48, .50 or .57 trim compressors/TO4B housing (TO4E or larger housings have clearance issues), t3 stage III turbine wheel/7cm Mitsu housing with the correct supporting mods. Going with a .60 trim or larger is really getting away from being streetable on most vehicles.

Any of these are great streetable turbos. There are more options available for fine tuning the turbo to your car. Hope this helps.

"so, uhh... whats the best turbo?"

That's just it... there's NO such thing as a "best turbo"!!! There are some that are better than others for a certain set up... but might be totally wrong for someone elses setup. You have to sit down & look at what you want.. then do your research in what will work best for your needs. Then call the different turbo companies & see what they have to offer & what they think will fit your needs. The main thing is never jump on the 1st thing that you hear from the 1st person you talk to. Even if they are right... you need to check it out w/ others 1st. You will be much happier if you get the correct turbo for you.
In the Beginning you may think that you want a turbo that you can run 10s with... then you find out that it doesn't spool till 4800. You daily drive your car & aren't in the 4800-7500 range all that much & now your car feels like a slow turd. Mainly because you don't have the setup to correctly use this 10 sec turbo... The above statement happens waaaay too often currently... just do your research & get the correct turbo for what you really want/need.

There really is no generic "BEST" turbo. That is why I offered several plus the t3/t4 hybrid with the range of options in my earlier post. Each design is a compromise between amount of flow vs. lag vs. usable boost range vs. boost transition from start of boost to full boost & so on. So based on the supporting mods and how fast you want to go vs. the amount of low speed response and lag you can put up with will determine which turbo you really need. Talk to the many vendors who build turbos every day and they help you select the "best" turbo for your requirements.

Last time I checked, there was a 2g ported manifold running in the 9's on a FP Red.... I am not so sure the 2g manifold is a POS..

Thats all I got to say about that. ( Forest Gump voice )

PS.... There are so many good turbos... Just pick one!

Way to wake up this thread from the dead. A .63 would have slower spool than the .48 but it would yield more topend. I've heard that the .48 will choke a t3/t4 setup. I would just get a .63 since it will still get boost at 3700-3800 rpm.
