Calculate a rough estimated HP rating on my car at the crank, and wheels? Just got my FP Big-T28 last week, and I want to get it dynoed, but I'm out of money for now, and I think my local DSM shop charges $60 an hour for dynoing. I also want to know if the car will get considerably louder (not to mention illegal) going with a test pipe, or should I just get a 3" Cat? My car has 108,000 miles on it and still runs strong. Here are my speed mods:

- FP Big-T28 Ported running at 16lbs daily driven :thumb:
- Thermal 3" catback (no downpipe or cat yet)
- Greddy U/L Intercooler Pipe kit
- Greddy 18" FMIC
- Greddy Type-S BOV
- EMS MBC
- Apexi EL Boost Guage
- Weapon-R Intake Filter
- Dejon Intake Pipe
- Autometer Cobalt A/F guage (not installed yet, but need it for boost I'm running til fuel mods are installed to make sure I don't run lean)
- All maintenance, except timing belt (getting done next month), has been done to car.

The next mods will be:

- 3" Downpipe, Cat or Testpipe
- 550cc injectors
- Walboro 190lb Fuel pump
- FPR
- SAFC

Then my speed mods will be done.

I know I can't get accurate HP ratings just from my mods list, but I was just hoping that some of you guys with experience might be able to give me an idea.

Well if you could get a time weather it be 1/8th or 1/4 mile I could get you a rough estimate, but every car reacts differnet to upgrades, but I would say around 220 to the wheels or so from looking at other cars with similar mods, I didn't realize that those gauges gave more horsepower ;) man I need to get me some of those.

"I didn't realize that those gauges gave more horsepower man I need to get me some of those."

LOL, I know, I know. I just posted those so that people didn't come up with responses like "Do you have a boost guage?", or "Whats your fuel look like with that boost, cause you could be running lean?".

Thanks for the info though. I'm trying to go to the track today, weather permitting. So I'll just have to see. I was suspecting more like at least 250hp to the wheels (considering its 190hp stock at the wheels, I thought I would have pushed more than 30hp with all this stuff added), with an FMIC, and a Big-T28 at 16lbs, but like you said, its different for each car. Hopefully I can make it to the track today if the weather holds out.

Do you have something to log with? Otherwise that s-afc is going to do you no good. If I were you, I'd sell the a/f gauge since it's no good and invest in a logger if you don't have one. An A/F blinky gauge isn't going to tell you anything about how your car is running. I'd be careful running that much boost on the T28 too. I'm guessing that at 16psi, it's pushing your stock injectors pretty far.

"I'm guessing that at 16psi, it's pushing your stock injectors pretty far."

Really? I guess I'll have to probably crank it down a bit. I only got the A/F guage to make sure I'm not leaning out at this boost. I haven't even opened it yet as I have the dual guage pod coming in the mail from DSMparts.com. Thanks for that info on the logger. I'll make sure I invest in one of those as well. DSMparts.com has a good price on it, and I just have to get a Palm pilot from somewhere. The A/F guage was only $75 bucks, so its no big loss. It'll be a while for the fuel mods as I'm paying $700+ next month to get my timing belt, waterpump, pulleys, and maybe even lifters changed. Thats really why I got that A/F guage as I don't want to melt my pistons, and just wanted to keep an eye on my A/F mixture. Thanks for the info guys, this stuff helps a LOT! :thumb:

NOAHSRT10 has almos the same mods as you PLUS what you are planning to get and I think he got around 240ish whp out of it with backyard tuning. this is at 16 psi and I believe that is the normal number..

^^^Yeah, I guess that is understandable considering this turbo can be boosted to 21psi for even more power. I have more mods to do. Trying to at least keep up with the SRT-4 neons. :p

that number of 240 hp was before the FMIC at 18 psi. They (turbotrix) also said that my turbo was spooling unusualy slow, and they couldn't figure out what it was. A kid around here has the same exact setup as me but with an evo III 16g (flows the same) and is pushing 295 at the wheels. His was dynoed with the FMIC, and mine was not. Makes a big difference :thumb:

I thought that number didn't make any sense. The second gen's come stock with 190whp, and I knew that with all those mods you have you should have been pushing close to 260+ easy. These cars would be awfully s*****y if they didn't push much more horsepower with all those mods. Thanks for the reply. I already have a Greddy FMIC, I just need to do my fuel mods and finish opening up the exhaust to get closer to where you are.
