I have a 92 eagle talon tsi awd and i would like to lower it down a bit but coilovers are expensive right now for me to buy and i dont wanna just go with lowering springs because thats not the right way to do it and i know my car will be bouncing any suggestions?

i wont be going to the track but i do race it sometimes.

I have the prokit on my FWD with AGX's and the drop just feels "right"

you dont "need" to change them, but it's highly suggested because the stock struts don't handle the drop like aftermarket struts do, so they tend to blow. It's better to just do it right the first time and not have to worry about changing them down the road.

The only aftermarket shocks for a 1g that handle lowering are Koni's. Heck even for 2g's. Koni's have a shortened piston.

Source? KYB-AGX adjustable's work just fine. They are struts not shocks.
KYB can only handle the same amount of lowering as a stock shock/strut can. Same goes for tokico's.

Koni, is one of the few that has a shorter piston, and can offer custom valving. I would never recommend KYB to anybody who is going to lower a vehicle more than an inch. If you have the money, you can have Koni's customized for adjustable rebound and compression.

I only lowered mine an inch. Where are you getting you information from about the AGX's?

...Common sense? Koni offers RACE struts/shocks and customization. KYB does not. The only thing KYB offers are stock replacement, AGX is also considered a stock replacement in my book. There's a reason people choose Koni's for front and AGX for rear.

But you haven't presented any sort of proof that the AGX's are bad for what this guy is looking for. He just wants to lower his car some and AGX's price-wise and functionality-wise are the best thing for him. 1g's work just fine with a Pro-kit/AGX setup. He isn't building a racecar.

So are u guys saying if i wanna go more then 1" its best to get a coilover kit? because aftermarket springs n shocks add up to a coilover kit almost so minus well save up for it i guess....

If you want to drop your car around 2 inches you will need either struts like the koni's or a full coilover setup. If you use a stock length strut, it will blow out the factory sized one very quickly.

So i need to buy eibach pro-lit and agx shocks? how low will my car be i have 17" rims and where can i buy these 2 for a good price?

You could go for the H&R springs, which offer a slightly stiffer spring-rate than eibach. And get AGX's.
Any of the vendors up top usually offer fair prices. Heck, sometimes I even check ebay to see if they're cheaper.

In my opinion if you are running a 17" rim on a 1g its going to look kinda silly with a 1" drop, unless you go with a bigger size tire then say a 45 series. I'm running an eibach prokit with kyb gr2's and the car handles nicely. But, I have more done then just that. I personally hate AGX's. I've never liked the ride and I've know many people who've blown them.

For the price of any strut and spring combo couldnt you just spend the extra $100 and get k-sport coilovers? And thats just the spring and strut, not to mention the strut plate in the front. Those things are not cheap. By then you have got to be just about the same cost as the k-sports.
