Ok well i put my car in the shop for a clutch job $320 labor plus parts. they call me and say i need a slave cylinder and they cant get it to go into gear, so i go pick that up, thay call me back 30-40 mins later and say its done, but i have no 1st gear, so i go down there and they hit me with 40 buck to put on the SC, so i get in the car put it in (1st)yes i have 1st, and my clutch pedal is spongy :notgood:, so i turn around and tell them this is not right the old SC was good, and i found 2 hoses not plugged in and a wire that gose to the TB and one of there tools under my hood. They never re-adjusted the clutch pedal it is adj all the way out, i was pumping the clutch this morning and the clutch pedal stuck on the floor:notgood:, So i also asked to see the old parts and they quikly changed the subject, they had told me my cluch disk was broke in half and it came all apart, but if that was the case how did i make it 60 miles home?, I think they put in the old parts and screwed me. what should i do now, total job parts and labor is around $800 bucks:cry:

Damn this suck ! What I would do ... I would removed the tranny myself to check if they put the right parts ... It's not that hard, it just take time and patience. Most shop don't know how to adjust our clutch, my last mechanic told me that you don't have any adjustment on an hydraulic clutch ... What an asshole ! Take a look on youtube and you'll find a video that teach you how to adjust the clutch.

Good luck

You can take it back and make them fix it right. Or you are out but I recomend reporting them to the better bisnes bureau. There is a probem if they can not show you the old parts. You wount know if they put the olf parts in if you do not take it apart. They may not have even changed the clutch just the slave cyl.

On another note I do not know of any shop that only recomend changing the slave. I recomend along with most shops that you change the master with it because typicaly its not too far behind the slave cyl. Your problem might be a leaking master cyl. Check the inside fire wall and carpet to see if its wet. if it is yo have a leaking master cyl.

I would have done it myself i have done one on a 1g 2.0 n/a before problem is im in tx at my dads apt and my tools are in my moms garage in ohio, when i get it home she is gona get tore apart and rebuilt(the right way) I will be going back there monday morning and i am gona try to get them to fix it, if not bbb and small claims? the slave is not leaking i have checked and i know they had the trans out i seen it out, i just dont know what they put back in? and im gona replace the master just for good messure too.

This goes to show if you want something done right you have to do it yourself

I don't know what the law is in your state but in MD the final bill must be with-in 10% of the original estimate. Unless they call you and you authorize the changes and they give you a new estimate.

I always ask for my parts back. That makes it hard for them to be dishonest since they are gonna have to show you exactly what happened.

This is the first time i have taken my car or any car i have owned to a shop in about 8 years i am very stubborn and like to figure things out on my own and 99% of the time do things myself, but i was in ohio then and this is now im in tx. I didnt evan want to take it to a shop but i had no choice. 320 labor caulda got act 2600 with an extra 100 and done it myself i feel so:ohdamn::mad::banghead:
