it's time for me to get a new cluch, this being my first DSM i have no idea what's a good clutch or what's bad, i'm not looking for crazy 24/7 track performance, just a dialy driver and the occasional track, what do you guys recommend as a good clutch??

PS: i know there is a drivetrain section but i can't post in it yet

I dont want to turn this into another clutch comparison thread, but the reason people had problems with them is because they had more power than they were meant to be used for. But for people like me who dont have that much more power, it does the job well and lasts.

P.S. User Injector, please update your vehicle profile so we know what you have so we can give you better advice.

I recently did a lot of searching in the forums on this, and if you do the same you will find that ALOT of people run the ACT and are very happy with it. THey also reccomend you replace some other stuff while you are doing the clutch, so check out some of those posts. I know they mentioned some tips on getting the ACT installed properly that you could pas on to your local tech, and some other things like checking the rear seal, replacing or resurfacing the flywheel, etc.

Let us know how it goes!

I'm running a sbr3500 and i love it. Holds great and the clutch pedal is the same if not softer then the act2100 i had in there before. Cant complain about the sbr3500 at all, just make sure you shim the pivot ball or else that could cause a small problem in the clutch disengagement. I would also recommend this clutch because if you ever decide to take your car a little further you don't have to worry about your clutch not being able to handle it.

I think you would be happy with an ACT 2100 and street disc.

How much power you have has nothing to do with springs popping out of the disk after 10k and jamming between your flywheel and clutch disk ruining both. It was a design flaw. Whether ACT has corrected the problem or not I dont know, but their customer service alone is enough to make me hate them and never want to use or recommend their products again.

Nuff said. I run an Exedy right now and I am very happy with it. Going to try Spec next.

in my daily driver im trying out a spec stage 2 i think it is.. its like inbetween a 2100 and 2600 and its CHEAP !! i got mine for $300 for pp disc TOB and alignment tool.

i have a few friends running them and they are even pretty nice on the track.

I too love the SBR 3500 and their flywheel not to bad on the pocket either.
