I'm buying a set of aftermarket camgears/camshafts off a fellow DSM enthusiast in my area.
He had got them off of a friend of his as well, and was told that they were similar [if not] 272's. My friend had them on his 1g for not too long before he needed to sell them. He doesn't know what brand they are and i'm trying to figure that out myself.

Here's are the pictures, i'm hoping someone on this forum recognizes them and can lead me to the right direction to knowing what they are, and possibly give me their opinion on them.

Thanks in advance.

The only place you have to look at, is that solid nut, which is on the camshafts, between the lobes of cylinders#1 and #2. All the cams I had/like 3 different brands/, had the number stamped there-ON THE NUT !!!!!

Thanks for the advice, i'll tell my friend who currently has them to look at that 'solid nut' for numbers. I'll get back with results if he finds anything on there.

p.s. i'm assuming i'll be finding ".272" if they're 272's?

nothing found on the 'nut' and according to a friend with |HKS| 264/272's he said that he didn't have any number on his cams.

According to this post they're not HKS's:

My 272/272 re-grinds (from Delta) have "272" etched by the dowel pins, but the problem is every machining company marks their camshafts differently. I think your best bet is to look at the camshafts closely, you're looking for a number/grind etched in. It wont be the big numbers/letters casted into them but something smaller and subtle. Then post what you find on here or you can start calling different companies and seeing what their markings are and if you have that companies cams and what kind they are. I know Delta Camshafts and RRE both make re-grinds, but I'm not sure who else does.

If nothing else, hopefully this will lead you in the right direction. :dsm::talon::laser: ... :thumb:

Those pics look like stocks!

Alot of times they will have it written on the inner portion what grind they are. Some of the ones I have seen have a blue/purple paint splotch on them as well.

They could possibly be regrinds, but I wouldn't trust it.

i've compared the pics to a stock 1g head with stock cams that i have at home, and the position of that 'nut' is different. i'm looking around for a picture of stock 2g cams to compare them to now.
