I have an oil leak.. Got pictures.

I just replaced the Valve cover gasket. So i know thats not it. But it is accumulating under the spark plug cover. It sprays on the hood too.

The oil cap leaking is a common problem on the DSM's. If this is the problem.....
You can do it the cheap way and cut up some old inner tube to make a homemade gasket to put on the cap, or you buy a new one.

Yup, Oil cap is most likely it. Has happen to me on just about every DSM i have owned. Advanced auto has them for not too much.

I just went outside and took the cap off. Is there supposed to be a ring of oil on the lip of the valve cover for the oil?? Is so. How do i know if its bad? just replace it and hope for the best?

Sure looks like the oil cap to me.

That ring of oil is where it is going past the cap gasket. Install a new cap and you'll be good to go!

I know I ask alot of stupid questions up here. and im just trying to get my car right. Its just everytime something is wrong I always think the worst possible thing that can happen, has happened. Thats why I ask.

Thats just always my luck with cars.

Just go to advanced auto or autozone and ask for a replacement oil cap. New oil cap will some with a new seal. Just simply take the old one off and put on the new one and your set

I had a similar problem, mine was a little more obvious though. I forgot to put the cap back on and took it for a drive, had oil everywhere by the time I realized what I had done Man, did I feeel stupid

Don't feel that way, first time I installed new cams I was so giddy I did the same thing!

Got to "Satan" (dealership) and buy the oil cap gasket $2.50 and add it to the old cap for DOUBLE the protection
