Just replaced my clutch, and I already have an ebay short throw shifter installed and had it in for 3 years until now and i think it went on me. I don't know exactly what the problem is though, I am having a hard time putting into gears. Like I go to put it into gears and I have to give it an extra push. Could that be my slave cylinder? because of the cheap short throw shifter? what could it possibl be?

Sounds like your slave cylinder. I had the same problem on my old 420a

check your fluids and the slave and master cylinders. i had a similar problem just replaced them both and installed SS braided lines and it fixed her right up.

A bent shift fork within the transmission will require you to push the shift lever further to get it into gear.

As well as a bad cable , as well as bad shifter bushings, as well as bad eyelet bushings, as well as a dragging clutch, as well as a bent clutch fork, as well as bad/low fluid, as well as bad synchros, etc.......see what I'm getting at? Gonna have to do a little diagnosis on that.

Start with the easiest first and work from there.

If its a hydraulic problem, you should be able to double or triple pump the clutch and then it should go in fine (indicating that the fluid is not moving the clutch enough on the first pump because of air problems). Did you disconnect any of the clutch hydraulic components?

Stretched cable, or bad shifter or eyelet bushings could also cause you to need to push the shift lever further to get it into gear. Clutch and synchro related issues though would require you to have to push the lever harder to get it into gear.

Of course, the OP isn't very concise on this point:

I originally had presumptuously read it as him having to push further than usual, for some reason.

A better description of the issue and, I agree, more diagnosis would be in order.
