Everytime i go to fill up, I can usually only pump $1 worth of gas before air from the gas tank gets pushed back up and causes the gas being pumped in to come back up and hit the tip of the nozzle causing it to cut off and you have to keep pumping let the air escape, pump again and let the air escape, so on and so on and so on and so on. Does anyone else have this problem? If so how did you get it fixed? its seriously the biggest pain ever!

It happens to me when my tank is almost on Empty. I put the pump nozzle at an angle in the tank so that air can come out from the top while fuel goes in. You also have to pump it at a slow rate when you do this. It might take a little while longer to fill up but it won't stop every 10 seconds. I figured this out when I was working at a Citgo for 3 years when I was in college.

You might also make sure the vapor hoses from the filler to the tank aren't clogged.
how do I go about doing that? It did it with Froggie3kb I don't know if any of you guys knew him, I ended up buying his car. Its annoying taking almost 10 minutes to fill up.

1. Lay on the ground underneath where the filler neck is.
2. Look up and find the rubber hose running from the filler neck to the tank.
3. Make sure it isn't kinked, because if it is the fuel won't flow through fast enough. Unkink it if it is kinked.
4. There will be a smaller hose running alongside the large hose that is to let the air out of the tank as the gas is poured in. Make sure that isn't kinked. If it is, unkink it.
5. If it's not kinked, chances are it's plugged up. Take it off and get out whatever is blocking it up.

I would recommend it. I've done it with half a tank of gas, though, once when my filler neck decided it wanted to leak gas all over the ground and I had to adjust the hose clamps on it. Just be careful and use your common sense. I'm in Dallas (Lewisville), too, if you need help, you're always welcome to come by. I'm a master of the DSM fuel system after all the problems I've had w/ mine :) PM me if you need help.
