the best advice given here is check that everything in the engine bay is up to spec. Check fuel lines boost line and every electrical connection you can get your grubby little hands on. If that fails take it to the dealer and see if they can see what one little thing is f**king up your car. Don't bet on the dealer though 95% of the time they tell you nothings wrong even if the trannys being draged behind the car on fire. LOL
 
hey i appreciate the good positive info ivan4g63, im not on here to try to be a prick at all, but when i ask a simple question and people come on and say"ya this kid is probably just a honda guy trying to stir up shit" its like what the heck all i wanna do is learn about my car, and no i did not have 19,000 dollars to spend on my car i started out with 9500.00 then stuff started going wrong and i had to work for money along with grandmas help LOL, and if i only knew at the time of what kind of engine i could have had for 5 grand, but ya know i still got the other engine in my garage i fully rebuilt it, along with a freinds help, hes a frickin genious, anyway ya we cant figure out whats wrong with it so im thinking about just getting a newe turbo for car thinking maybe t3/t4 turbo and lettin her fly and not giving a shit,there is no mitsubishi dealership within 300 miles of here. so im screwed as far as that goes, but thanks guys for the info, it is very much appreciated. And if you have anymore positive info keep it comin thanks.

Just sell it to me cheap before you go that route.
 
Its a good thing to upgrade a turbo, but before this it's a good Idea to do a leak test on your intake piping, just to be sure that the old turbo its working fine, check for cracks on the exhaust mani, or cracked rubber pipes, or bad turbo gaskets, and also the new turbo will work even better...

The only bad thing that I've found on this cars, its that it takes alot of petience to check for errors, cause there is too many things stucked on the engine bay, but once everything its fine your car will have fast hondas for breakfast...!
 
it seems like my car takes forever to get "warmed up". it starts just fine but when i go to take off it is very sluggish and jumpy. like i have to rev the rpms just to take off semi-smoothly. when i shift higher after getting going it is sluggish agin until the rpms are above about 3K. it only does this for about 15 minutes after startup........HELP :cry:
ah yes....also, if my check engine light is on, will autozone pull the code without charge or should i pay for a diagnostic or what?

go to autozone first. it is free. if you replace what is wrong and it does not fix the trouble.the takeitand pay.how old are your plugs fuel filter. wires?have you tryed checking your isc,tps and cleanig the throttle body

okay i went to autozone...they said they can't run check engine test on older than '96 imports...???....wtf

They have an OBDII scanning tool, cars made before 96 used OBDI. You'll have to do the flashing light method, don't make me go into this, just do a search on here.
 
My power steering pump went out today:cry: :barf: I only have 58,000 miles on my car. Did anybody else ever have this happen? They said it is not covered by the warranty and it is going to be like $450 for a new pump and belt:cry:
Somebody please cheer me up after getting a flat tire saturday with no spare and now this I'm dieing, not to mention how my front bumper scraped going up the flatbed:cry:
 
i hear u with the car hating u. since i've owned my talon, its broken down 2 times, gone through 2 engines, caught on fire, 3 dipstick pop-outs, multiple oil leakes, idle surges, electrical problems, broken front axle, and many other little pains in the ass. oh well, its a dsm, its a life in itself, and i'll never give up that life.....oh my god i almost shed a tear haha

Fuk that, I would have sold it after 2nd engine died. Mine hasnt given me any problems, but then again it is stock and not driven much.
 
well, i had this post before: ....this is the other thread

and that didn't fix anything. now my car is stuck down the road and i have no idea what the #### is wrong. i'm driving, all of a sudden radio shuts off. okay... no big deal, oh look, srs light dimmly on....what happens now? now i'm driving so rediculously cautiously it's not even funny, i am hearing every little noise, the turbo is spooling like crazy, show's that it's boosting but the car isn't going anywhere and the rpms weren't going up? then the car kind of "stuttered" or whatever and felt like it wasn't running right. .....
running through my mind is getting home asap, so as i'm about to turn onto my street (my house is like 3/4 mile off the street) i put it in neutral, the speedo/tach everything stop working, car locks up and i slowly coast past my street onto the side ditch.....EXCELLENT!! so i joghome, call my buddy, we go to the car thinking it's the battery to jump it. i turn it on, it turns on...i'm like wtf? it just turned right on...
so we bring it back to my driveay, take the battery out, put his battery in, and it runs like a top, then take my battery, put it in his car and his shit wont turn over, so we're like dead battery. head to autozone, get new battery replaced under warranty, and i hope it's back in business...

anyway, my headlights are still NOT working and i'm not sure what that problem is, probably a fuse or somethin, i'll check on that tomorrow. anyway, i'm just pretty ####ing pissed and hoping that it was just the battery and nothing else...
 
atleast yours was minor i pulled my tranny about 3 weeks ago to fix 2nd got everything in and went to crank and it would not start come to find out my t-belt jumped so my head is off for a rebuild then i find out that their is pieces of my cam sheired off and in the head and i need a new head cand exaust cam. so my luck is pretty shitty to. good luck getting your car fixed man.

i just ordered some magnecor wires 8.5 mm and some plugs, something i needed to do anyway.

thanx, the way you can tell if you are off teeth is to put your car in a gear with the hood open and look down and its hard to see but their is a notch on the crank pully, you need to push the car till this mark is lined up with the timing mark on the t-belt cover. onece that is all lined up just pull the t-belt cover over the cam gears ad see if the two white marks on the cam gears are lined up if so your car is in proper time. but the problems you are having is not from the t belt being off thats just how to check it.

You must really love that car, sojnds like it would have been cheaper just to buy another one.

See about a used or aftermarket pump.
 
hell yea i love the car. as much as i hate when shit goes wrong with it, i still love it. so what if i cut up my hands, pick my teeth out of the steering wheel from fuel cut, burn my hands on hot piping, become covered in grease, hurt my hand punching things out of frustration and kick my bathroom door straight off the hinges cause i couldnt figure out the boost creep cause on a mostly stock car. i love the car, and i'll never get another one for as long as i can keep this one. my chances of finding another 90 or 91 awd tsi remotely local are second to none.
