I hate electrical issues

alright well long story short, i bought a project gst from a kid who pretty much effed everything. I installed a new tranny (expensive ). finally started her up an noticed a few things. first off she was surging at idle and second i had no radiator fans. I traced the surge to a not recirculating bov so i fixed that. now car starts and idles normal. however! i still have no fans and after a few revs the temp guage was @ 50% and the surge was back!!!

so i have 2 problems. does anyone have any creative ideas for the fans? and any thoughts on the surge?

You may want to make sure that all the sensors are connected at the t-housing. Sometimes (alot of the time) are cracked or broke off and you cant tell. But you can always hardwire the fans to a switch with a fuse if you dont find to much else. Put your symptoms into the search function and se what comes up! Sorry not to much help on the idle surge but I would do a compression test or maybe a leakdown if you have the tools. That will help to find out if its your HG, but a headgasket would help it to over heat.Good luck!

i would check the fan switch it sits at the bottom of your radiator, that controls the main fan. a way to override it is get a short piece of wire open up the fuse box and locate the fan relay using the jumper wire try to make the fan turn on. to check if your a/c fan all you have to do is turn your ac switch on if everything is okay the fan will turn on if not check fuses and relays

2g doesn't have the fan switch on the radiator bottom. Check your fuses, fan relays, and the coolant temp sensor (2 wire one) on thermostat housing. Check if the fans were rewired as many do.
