i dont want to do this but... will my car spool this turbo

i was wondering will my car spool a holset from a dodge cummins its really not to monsterous just wondering because i can get a killer deal on one not sure of the exact model ,if it wont tell me no LOL thanks remember if it wont say its a bad idea
 
the cummings typically come with the Holset HX 35

Holset HX 35 is a turbo put on a dsm sometimes, i KNow a few with it.
its a BIG turbo, you need intake, exhaust, fuel, tuning, ect ecte cct.

you will NEVER optomize this turbo on a stock to mildly modded dsm.

and if its off a cummings i doubt it will adapt to the dsm very easily.

if you can verify its installation, and have the supporting mods, go for it.
if you plan to slap it onto your stock - semi stock dsm, nada
 
thanks for the info i was thinking it was that a hx35 but not positive so cheap turbo, bunch of money on other stuff i have a header that i could easily machine and TIG a new flange on but that doesnt take care of everything else i need
so a good start to run this turbo would be
injectors
sheetmetal intake
front mount intercooler
eprom
would that get it started LOL ,can the motor internally handle this turbo, and im assuming a external wastegate would help to
 
yea basically.
injectors
exhaust
a intake pipe + highflow filter, not necessarily a manifold. FMIC is good idea
a MAFT setup would be ideal.

with the Maft you could tune your fuel decent, add a SAFC and your even better,
or go the extra and get a dsmlink.

you just gotta make sure the turbo can breath, put out the exhaust fast enough, and has enough fuel to eat.

injectors + pump + fuel tuning.

then your gonna be burnin the hell out of a stock clutch.

i think stock motors can handle around 400HP some have had more/less before they die.
depends on the condition of your motor.
 
LOL if i do all of that im not leaving the stock clutch or pressure plate, i was running 3in turbo back anyway whether i use the holset or not so that shouldnt be an issue about how much is a apexi SAFC ivesen them at our local shop for vtech's and he said he can get them for 1st gen dsm and they where around $400 , i better start a "i NEED list"

You can get an AFC for like 150 bucks. You don't need a brand new one, just one that works.
