My dip stick blows out when I hold 15 psi or over to 7k rpm. No smoke. no noise. 130,000miles on car. what is wrong. rings? piston? or pcv valve and where the hell is the pcv valve???my mods are as this ....HKS 2.5 exhaust (no cat) SPI Boost Gauge Cyberdyne A/F Gauge Blitz Dual SBC (Boost Controller) Blitz Dual Turbo Timer MAFT 3''GM MAF Front mount intercooler w/ all hard intercooler pipes 3 inch intake pipe with filter NGK plugs and wires

Its called blow by. Probably getting past the rings. Alot of people tie down their dipstick, I have also seen vaccume pumps to relieve crank case pressure. Im sure a search would get your alot of options to tackle the problem. Do a compression check, and a leak down test if compression is low, to see where its leaking.

The pcv is a nipple off the baclk of the valve cover with a hose running to the intake.

Could it be the pcv valve? I did the tie down on the dipstick will this hurt anything?

here is my compression test results..what do you guys think? Cyl 1-dry 65- wet 95
cyl2-65 dry wet 95
cyl3-65 dry wet 115
cyl4-75 dry wet 125

That sucks, Isnt the 1G supposed to be around 130 healty? I think you might have done it with out enough cranking power. Have your battery hooked up to a running car and do it again. Also was the engine warmed up with WOT ?

It was done by a mechanic from the prevous owner. I hope they done it wrong but i dont know my dipstick is shooting out on 15psi. I should just order a new motor huh?

Its hard to say. You are obviously interested in modding or you would not be on this site.

I say a nice rebuild is in order. Get some nice hardware though. Headgasket, arp studs, rods pistons...., but also you could do a 6 bolt swap. Theres alot of options, but driving that car for much longer wouldnt be one if mine.

EDit, You have a 6 bolt, Ok.....build it...is that even an option for you?

Do a compression test yourself so you can be sure. Your problem might not be remotely as serious as you think it is. Pressure in the crankcase can also be explained by bad PCV, or faulty valve cover breather. You should look into the less cataclysmic possibilities first (speaking from experience).

Replacing (and later eliminating) my PCV and buying a new style dipstick fixed my dipstick shooting problem. Look into this stuff first, its dirt cheap.

However, if that compression test was done right, those numbers are beyond horrible. Its amazing the car runs.

Thank you. I just took off the pcv valve and cleaned it ..its rattling pretty good so now im going to check that breather on the valve cover..I love the car..I thought i had a 6 bolt?? But what engine would you guys reccomend? best bang for the buck remeber my goal is 10s.
