I am brand new to this forum, and i am reading the rules and policies, but i dont understand why some things are prohibited... for example bench racing, which i understand is someone asking what hp they would produce with a current setup and such. Is there really such a big problem with people giving an educated guess? I would think only extremely immature people would flame some one else for a guess. I know that i dont have much money and i would love to know how many horses i have to the wheel, but dynoing and tuning cost money, and money that i dont have, can the moderators, and site generals and people of such rank consider this?

No problem with you asking which part will give you the most gain. But having people guess your gain is pointless. Every car is different, and when you get to the level of heavily modified cars, it's also likely to be wrong.

Well i guess the reason people get mad is that you can research set-ups and find the answer yourself. considering your n/t you really wont be making huge gains unless you turbo or build the engine.

that is a huge bummer :(, getting a turbo is gonna take me awhile... oh well long term project i suppose.

Just save some money and get it dynoed...No use of having people guess the HP it all comes down to the wheels anyways so...if people guess what you have it will be most likely be at the crank...I see your point though but I mean look at the setup you have and find someone with the exact same setup and you will still have a diff HP rating..

weird how that can happen, same set up different hp rating, wish some things were more simple and less expensive.

Well if you think about it, combustion is a pretty un-controlled process.
It's almost impossible to have EVERY set up the same.

Theres going to be minute differences in all engines, just like people.

Everyone is special.

Except mine, f%& mine.

;)

No really all that weird tunning has alot to do with it too. If cars were simple and less expensive everyone would have a 9 or 10 sec street car! Also you dont need to pay for a dyno take it to the track! Most smart car guys could give two sh*ts less about a dyno number! Its how fast it moves down the 1320.:hellyeah: Dyno numbers are for show timeslips are for real.:thumb:
