I was heading home, cruising at around 30mph a block away from my house, when a red car infront of me braked really hard. That forced me to brake hard, but unfortunately, I braked on an ice+slush+ mixture. I swerved, avoiding oncoming traffic, and lied down next to a parked Celica. The red car honked twice and drove away.

Nobody got hurt, everything is fine, the police took care of everything except my car.

I plan to do most of the bodywork myself since I'd save a lot of money this way for other repairs.

If anybody is selling 2g White body panels, hood, suspension, please let me know. I'd Greatly appreciate it.

I really do hate idiots who cause accidents and then drive away like they had nothing to do with it. I hope everything works out good for you.

That sucks man, hope you get it all straightened out.

I got into a bit of an accident the other day too. Ran into a wall, weird thing is it didn't brake anything, just squashed my car.

The front left wheel is my main concern. I was able to drive it a block to my house last night and park it in my lot. But the wheel is dented in slightly. Can I get advice on what to do about this?? Im hoping I can just replace it with the help of my friends, or buy suspension ugprades at least?? The mechanic is my last bet.

nice work

That's also the first time I've ever seen somebody use the stubby wings from both the talon and eclipse on the same car.

I dont mean to jack this thread but, i'd really appreciate it if I can get just a little help. Thx. :thumb:

Check the DSM classifieds and Trader, there are always lots of people with parts cars. I'm sure you could cut a deal with one of them to just buy the parts you need instead of the whole body...Real sorry about the accident, hope you had insurance

don't go blaming the red car in that weather you shouldn't of been following that closely, its up to the you to determine how much space you need should the car in front of u stop dead for no reason...thats why all rear enders are the fault of the rear car, its recommended that you have at least 4 car lengths in rain and i'm guessing more in the snow and ice. You sure you weren't too close because hard braking in front of someone is something people do when someone is tailgating them, slam the brakes, honk there horn and give em the finger and drive off. I feel bad for the Celica, I'd be sooo pissed off if I were the owner of that car. Anyway I'm sure you learned your lesson, as for fixing your car, hows the frame I got into a minor accident where I hit the curb with my tire, didn't think it was too bad but the the axle actually cut through part of the frame. Looks like your hood survived, is your quarter and door damaged or is that just a layer of dirt that got scrapped off?

They were on there when I bought it, almost made me not buy it. It's growing on me a little bit. But they're still both coming off in the near future.

It would have been nice of the other car to stop, but you were following too closely for the weather, and driving too fast. No sympathies from me.

that really sucks man, i sure hope you can git r put back together.............glad everyone was okay.....that is probably the only good thing.........hotwheels of turborides

yea dude..dont tailgate next time.....one of the worst traits a driver can have...hopefully you learned your lesson....i slam on my brakes all the time when ppl are tailgating me ...i woulda done the same thing that red car did

if you slam on your brakes randomly while someone is tailing you and hits you, it's YOUR fault because you can't slam on the brakes without a reason. Best thing to do if someone is tailing you is to go even slower... and slower... if they try to pass you... dont let them!

All I'd have to say is that i slammed on the brakes because an animal crossed the road and its your fault. You'd probably even get a ticket for following too closely.

the guy didnt say he was tailgaiting, stop flaming him. If i guy 8 car lengths in front of me, breaks hard, guess what!? I'm Gonna Brake Hard! And the guy shoulda stopped, he was a witness, and left the scene of a crime. Think about whats about to come out of your moth, or your hands in the case next time guys, he probally feels bad enough about smashing up 2 very nice cars.

Sorry to hear that, hope you get some insurance $$ and get it back on the road by spring. :thumb:
