hyundai block non turbo build----help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok i blew some rods in my 7 bolt non turbo -------Again this is a NON TURBO ----and im wondering --can i use a hyundai block non turbo block and put my 6 bolt spare head on?.......what needs to be done besides a different timing belt ?---------im not changing any internal parts on the hyundai block but want to just bolt my 6 bolt head to it and go ..........any one know if this is a suckie idea or will i gain a little performance by this ?........i have no idea if my compression will be higher or lower doing this swap ............if any ones done this please asdvise me on whether its a good choice or not ?...........remember its a non turbo and im not planning on adding a turbo -------- just want to know if this is a good idea........any one who has done this please let me know your findings on what extra things needed done and what parts ill need to interchange and finaly ----is there any performance gain --------i need to know asap because racing season is almost here and i need to get started like yesterday .....yes its a hyundai block 2.0 and will my 6 bolt head drop on with no problems and what are the pit falls if any

I thought the hyudia motor was the 420a. But I guess i could be wrong.

you would be better off with a N/T block it has stronger mains then the Hyundai block. Unless you are going with a 2.4 then i am pretty sure you have to block the oil passages on the block like a 4g64.

ok heres the problem-- how can i identify if its a 2.0 or a 2.4?...........the block was just given to me and no info was available --------can any one help here ?

it could be 1.8L. 2.0L or 2.4L block. 1.8 and 2.0 came with mitsubishi DOHC head on them. The 2.0L is the same 4g63 found in 1g 7 bolt N/Ts. That will be my next block when mine is trashed. hyundai block with evo 8 internals.GL

As long as it's indeed a 2.0L, yes they're the same. The 1.6, 1.8, and 2.0 all look basically the same from the oil pan to the valve cover.

I thought the hyudia motor was the 420a. But I guess i could be wrong.

That's a Chrysler engine.
