well im doing a build and have a chance to trade my evo3 16g for this hx35. only thing i don't like about it, is the 90 outlet on the compressor. i've tried research on this, but came up with nothing really.
do you think its even worth the trouble of trying to make this thing work?. looks like a pain in the ass to me.

Silicone Coupler?

Seems like it would be easy to get a coupler to go from whatever the inlet on the compressor is to whatever size your intake pipe is with no issues. If not you can allways make one. There is a thread on here as to how to make your own couplings.

not exactly, my ic piping is in relation to a 16g with a j pipe. which basically what im saying is, i need the compressor housing to have the straight down outlet. a coupler would no way work. idk, im thinking this thing is an hy not hx.

can anyone confirm whether this one is a hx or hy? and would you all do the trade even with this compressor?

It looks like an HE351 instead of the HX35. It's basically a factory hybrid HX35/40. You can't use the BEP housings with it. The exhaust side is approx 9cm^2.

You'll need to either look up the serial number or measure the wheels on it to determine exactly what it is.

It's either a HE341 or HE351 if that photo you've posted is of the actual turbo. Basically a HX35 7-blade compressor mated to a smaller turbine wheel with a smaller turbine housing. This turbo would have less airflow potential than a HX35, and also would fit any of the housings available from Bullseye Power.

well back to the IC pipe fitting, thats a real easy job, just gottta cut some pipe maybe and get a 90 degree coupler.
