i searched and this question got asked in a thread but was never answered. i'm looking for that answer today. i'm doing an engine bay clean up and wire tuck like turbosax did but i have one issue. i don't need a/c but would prefer to keep my heat. is there a way to remove all of the a/c components including under dash and still keep my heat? thanks in advance.

You can remove the hvac box (you will have to remove the dash first) and remove the evaporator out of it. You will have to block off the hole in the box where the evaporator lines goes thru so the air isn't leaking out of it.

as long as you do not delete the heater core then you will have heat. but be sure to keep your blower motor as it blows the heat thro your vents

So I take the black tubing out and take out the evaporator and block off the holes and put it back on? Or take it off and leave it off and still be able to have heat?

Leave the whole hvac box together, but remove the evaporator out of it and block the hole in the heater box where the lines to fitting for the lines goes thru.

Do you happen to know where any pictures or diagrams are of this so I can see how to do it?

Wow, sounds simple enough. I'll try it later. I'll let you know how it goes. thanks for the help.

I followed your write up when I removed my dash. I can take pictures from my starting point with it out as of now.
