are they necessary? i just ordered a set of rims because i bent one of my 17's i have on there now, and the guy started arguing saying i needed them, i told him ill pass on them, and he gave me a bit more attitude saying that ill have to buy them somewhere else because they are necessary.

the rims i have now dont have them. are they really needed? i googled before posting and other people on other forums say they are not needed.

what's the centerbore of the rims? stock is 67.1mm (2.64"), so if the centerbore is larger than that you'll need hubcentric rings.

I had a set of rims on my old car that were not hubcentric. I didn't use hubcentric rings, but they used a tapered lug nut. I just torqued the lugs without any load on the wheel and it was fine. However, if hubcentric rings are necessary and available, then I would use them.
