Hows this 18g on Ebay look?

Eh, but the 14b's 6cm2 is crappy :) Maybe if it's still cheap near the end, and I can justify spending extra $ on a used 7cm2 housing. It's too bad I'm not a fan of how Greddy takes Garrett or MHI products and triples the price. :D

That looks like a ford svo/TC style exit too me as I have a Ford T-bird TC. Don't waste your buttons on this turbo unless you have decent walding skills and a Ford outlet flange lying around. . .

Although, i must admit a "05h-18g" is a great choice for an upgrade. As you will be very ticked with the mid range, if you do get one that will fit our o2 housings like me:D .

But. I don't have my TC apart. So I am not sure about the bolt pattern on the back. I am sure that the Ford style bolt pattern is a 5-bolt pattern and that NOT many turbos have that pattern unless they have that pattern form...

A 6cm^2 housing is a f$%# up for an 18G compressor wheel. No offense to you. It is just true. You seam to know what you are doing. I remember you from another post on a hybrid turbo, recently.

You'll get reach "exhaust lock" [Corky Bell's Maximum Boost] long before you get to the wheel's full potential. Most guys running an 05H 18g feel that an 8cm^2 housing is needed. Or an 06H turbine wheel w/ a 7cm^2 housing. Either combination is neccesary for reaching the potential of the 18g wheel (just like the 20g).

You're right, Ford does have a 5 bolt pattern. The Z cars I'm familar with use the same pattern. I'll try to find a pic of that and compare. If it doesn't fit my Eclipse, maybe it will work for my 280Z :D

This turbo will work very well with a 280zx. What year do you have. I had a '78 280z (all original w/ 100,020 miles), that I was about to turbo before it got torched:notgood: . The 18g flows very no matter what boost. that means that no matter what engine you couple it too is should have plety of air to give you what you need for the boost you're giving it... However. The 280 zxt engines have a 3 bolt inlet... unless i'm wrong, the inlet is drastically different.

EDIT: Glad to see another Z car enthusiest sneek over to the darkside for a moment :)

No no, I'm sure that turbo on Ebay has a 7cm2, I was talking about if I had to put my Mitsu housing on, from my 14b on the car now, that's 6cm2. If that turbo is a MHI turbine housing, then I'm sure it'd be a 7cm2. I compared a picture of the Ford 5 bolt to that and it looked fairly close, but it appears Greddy may have had some differentiations in the casting if that is a variation of the Ford pattern. I emailed them about it.

If that is an MHI turbine housing then I won't fool with putting it on my 280Z if I win. But if it's a t3 housing then I would highly consider it. It'd be cool to have a Mitsu turbo on my Nissan, the Z purists would hate me LOL

Anyways my Z is a 77. I'll link you to the pics:

F&#$% you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 The Nissan Engineers are incarneated versions of the Automobile Gods!!!!! JK!:thumb: LOL

Beautiful car... The hood gills, the hood gills! I swear. That makes all the difference in the world. That is why I loved my old baby, before . . . you know. . .
I agree. Sorry, I can't help you any more here.... It certainly looks like a t3 style inlet flange though. It would be really nice to see a MHI turbo on an Nissan. Bar none, MHI makes the most reliable, toughest turbos out there. And add that to the reliability of the L-series engines. You've got a winner there, to me!:thumb: :rocks:

Ahh you are correct sir. I couldn't quite tell, so I had to save the pic to my computer, open it up in a photo program and brighten the pic, and sure enough...it's a rectangle. Good eye! I'm still waiting on Greddy to get back with me as to what that bolt pattern is. If it's Ford 5 bolt, I am probably all over that turbo. It'd look sooooo nice in my Z car :rocks:

I'm a freakin genius! It's the t25/t28 mount! I was browsing Phoenix Turbo's site and POW there it was, a t25/t28 flange for custom downpipes and it struck me. I compared and that's what it goes to. I should have known when Greddy's site mentioned they used that turbo for 95-99 Eclipse upgrades...duh!

Huh? It may indeed be a T25 flange, but that's got nothing to do with Greddy's 18g in their 2G kit. That version uses a DSM style round inlet 7cm housing (as does the stock 2G T25).

Don't forget that the nissan sr20's used t25's and t28's too.
