How would i do against this car...?

There is a kid at my school that has a gsr, he talks shit to anyone and everyone. I would like nothing more than to shut him up. I have a 98 gs-t with gauges and yokohama tires--completely stock still...i have apexi n1 catback on the way. can a stock gs-t take a gsr that has:

aem cold air intake
aem fuel pressure regulator
aem fuel rail
apexi n1 exhaust
ctr cams
dc headers

Hes a pretty good driver, he supposedly runs 14.5 but no one believes him...i saw him take off from a 30 roll and i wasnt too impressed-but i cant say that in case i lose. I am a stock gs-t running about 13-14 psi...exhaust on the way...what do u think????

forgot to mention- its a 2001-hes got coilovers, and 5zigen wheels on yokohama avses 100's...skunk 2 camber kit..thanx

first off, backpressure is needed in n/a motors. we would need it too but the turbo creates enough for us.

i raced a whatever the newest style is, it was an ls integra with motor work(don't know what) and a 75 shot of nitrous, cai, exhaust, and i am sure he had other crap too. i wasn't too interested in his car because i thought he was another rice boy. i was hardly modified(still on a t-25 at the time) and i beat him by a car length. he may have pulled on my but i still took the white flag!

i think a gs-t with a mbc and exhaust would make this gsr look like it was hitting its brakes!

This is his mod list people and his question pertains to this list ONLY. You will loose.

He is in NO way stock. And you are. Again, he wins cause he is ALSO a pretty good driver.

simply put, I think midnght is right. I have raced a 2001 GS-R when i was stock, but he had no fuel or cams, and I only beat him by about two cars from a 30 mph roll. Like midnght said though, your race pertains to his mods and he has enough to beat you. The exhaust and mbc though... should put you on top.

Thems the facts!!!

Simple little tweeks here and there and the addition of a MBC will get you the win. Shit, I ran the stock exhaust and just had a boost gauge and a greddy S and would lay some wood to the little H/A guys.

20 psi on the T25 is better, just be ready to buy a new upgrade sooner than later.

I've raced GSR's in both my v6 stang and GSX. With the Mustag I would put about two lengths on him up until about 30mph where he would start pulling and have me by about 20 lengths at 110mph.

The GSX is modded so I destroyed him off the line and he never caught up all the way.

I'm guessing you will have a much better chance from a stop. From a roll he will put you to shame, they rev to 8 bajillion rpm and way very little.

With this other guy weigh'n in less than a GST he will still get the DSM in its present state. The guy weighs less and is packing more punch. The GS-T has no leg to stand on in 'this' case.










And YES, if he did this and that he COULD win but again, he still can't keep up with the GSR.

Unfortunatly the Acura will most definately win .Launchin,top end,and gas milage.........I actually witnessed the same race with a Acura equiped "Honda race package"(Intake header exhast )And a GS-T with a K&N.The DSM never looked good.....ever it was half a car outta the hole +2 by third and +3 by the 1/4.So in all it was about 3 1/2 cars.

Sorry!! But the good news is his next upgrades are very expensive thats why all Honda guys all have the same shit.....so, once you have a few things you'll crush em and he'll never EVER be able to beat you again...

If you get a mbc, 1g bov, and put on that catback exhaust, the race should be won by you. MBC are like 70 bucks, 1gbov are like 50...thats 120 bucks and then race him for 150. You win and make 30 bucks to take your girlfriends out to dinner one night. How simple is that???

Your car is stock. It ran low 15's from the factory, and it's probably a little slower now.

He has mods, and probably run 14's.

15's are slower than 14's.

Now, with some simple mods you can take him. Don't try now though.

It's a buyers market for used DSM parts right now. Rich people going to EVO's and WRX's and others just broke and parting out..

although i/e/boost controller would get you pretty far. That hairdryer you call a turbo wont last long though.

do the bcs mod. If you dont get your exhaust in time, you might not beat him. But with exhaust and a tiny bit more boost you will romp on him. If you are still totally stock you might lose.

I think bottomend (1st through 2nd) you'll probably pull, the bottomend on our cars are ungodly. I think around 3rd or 4th he'll start to pull since our topends suck bad.

The GSR Motor redlines fairly high, and has better compression, but torque is fairly low.

So basically I think you *COULD* possibly take him, but you'd have to outskill him in driving, it'd be a helluva race. If there were a losing point, it would be around 3rd gear.

It won't be extremely expensive. You need a catback, Intake, MBC etc... no matter what.

So just the turbo, injectors and MAFT.. Those three will really wake that car up good. Use your tax return or wait a month then run it.

This can also pertain to MANY DSM/NT cars in my area. Not all are on the boards, but there most def. out there.

Exhaust is not the answer. As stated, I beat MANY with 18 psi and a hard UICP on my t25 with stock exhaust. It is that simple. The exhaust is a great addition, but not needed to beat a honda/acura of that level. He just can't do it stock like he is.
