2 questions.

I just got my boost gague and a/f gague hooked up. Reading a boost gague is pretty self explainatory. But what is up with the a/f gague? up and down, up and down?!?!?!?! Whats that all about? How should a typical a/f gague work? what should I look for it to do? Also my boost gague reads 11 lbs and then slowly drops to around 8 when I hold it. Is this possible from a stock 14b? Or is my gague shite?

My A/F gauge just blinks between the two(lean and rich) as well unless I am WOT or in a high gear and just idling down to a lower speed. I think that is typical.

As far as your boost gauge, I think your boost is also typical. I read 9 stock with mine and I am guessing you could have some boost creep or spike in there.

Both normal as far as I am concerned.

Hope this helped.

a/f gauges are pretty much pointless, just a LED lightshow. it will read up and down and inbetween like that..its normal. you will have a lean side, stoich is in the middle, and rich is on the other side. while driving normally it will go between lean and stoich..under WOT it will go to rich. render it useless. your boosting pressure sounds alright, it varys from car to car...but if you have a 2G then lets get it straight right now, you have a t25 not a 14b. the 1Gs came with a 14b and the 2Gs came with a t25 (both manual, autos came with smaller turbos even)

the only o2 readings that would be worthwhile are from a wideband o2 unit..which tend to be expensive. i have a a/f gauge just for looks, but thats only cause i had cash layin around to waste...egt, boost, fuel pressure, and gauges like that are benifitial are nice to have.

actually eventhough the a/f gauge swings all the time and never stays steady it's still helpful if you have a boost controller. it tells you whether you still have enough gas "rich" to boost up some more or if you're leaning to back off the psi.

The gauge is only as good as the sensor, and the O2 sensor is not much good for tuning. If every time you go WOT it drops all the way to the lean side, you know there is something very wrong, but that's about it.
