I have a question about how to do a bit of custom electrical wiring. Stock, there is a plug that connects from the brake pedal, which has 4 wires on it. I know for example one of those 4 wires runs to the cruise control unit to turn it off.

IIRC, another of them goes to the blinker relay box, and then from the blinker relay box there is a grey/red stripe grey/blue stripe that run to the rear of the car to the tail lights.

As I was removing the blinkers from my car and all the associated wiring, I removed those grey wires along with the other 10 or so wires. While testing something else, I noticed my brake lights weren't working. They would turn on with the headlights, but the pressing of the brake pedal did not make them brighter as per normal brake use.

I did a bit of research and have come to the conclusion the wire that gives the brighter "blink" from the blinker relay is the same wire that gives the brighter "brake" light to the tail lights. I based that off of the write ups of the EDM "Euro" tail light articles. They all still have the blinker relay though.

My question is:

Is my guess correct, and if so, how would I wire my brake lights to come on straight from the brake pedal without the blinker box relay.

Each of the rear (left and right) combo lights have two 2 filament bulbs connected in parallel (one filament of each is connected together and the other filament of each is connected together). One set of filaments is for the normal taillights are on condition. The other set is shared for either turn signal, hazard, or stop lights condition.

It sounds like you want to eliminate the turn signals and hazard fucntions then (so you don't have any)? If so, just jumper (or solder if you want to do it right) the larger (16 gauge) green wire at the Turn Signal and Flasher Unit connector (pin 2) to both the larger gray/blue (pin 5) and larger grey/red (pin 4) on the same connector. Be aware you won't have turn signals or hazards then.

Yea, hazards and blinkers are gone. But track rules state I need working brake lights so I am ensuring they work.

Where is that green wire coming from (the pin 2)? Is that the wire I was thinking was coming from the brake pedal?

If you dont know off the top of your head I'll go trace wires again when I have time to mess with the car again, but I am doing work and wanted something to take my mind off things for a bit :p
