Ok, i have all mods in the stage 1 section of the tech guide excpet the upgraded fuel pump and turbo upgrade. Got apexi N1 turbo-back exhaust, K&N intake kit, Greddy IC piping and Type-S BOV, plugs and wires, MBC with gauge and A/F Gauge, Formula Fabricated Header, just a simple front strut bar and Alto End Clutch Kit(got an auto).

So question is how to upgrade turbo, since i got all these things do i just upgrade the fuel pump and injectors and get a MAF translator, then buy a upgraded bolt on turbo(full garret or something) or buy one of those Greddy Turbo upgrade kits or one similar to it, but dont those include a lot of what i already have? or do they actually come with the things i will need?

And wuts better to have? Internal/External Wastegate? would external mean i would need to replace header and get a Turbo specifically for the external?

Sorry still learning, any advice will help and be appreciated.

Before you go and blow up your motor buy a new fuel pump and rewire it per the vfaq.
If you want bigger injectors you should get some sort of fuel management system, then an upgraded turbo. You can run rich many times but lean just once.

what are your future plans? u want something very streetable? or more track? If you look at my mods list i am just going for about 300hp and since its my daily driver i wanted a turbo that was very streetable so i went with a evoIII 16g. some people might go a couple steps bigger and want more of a track/dyno car. you have a auto trans you said? you might want to go with a turbo that will spool quicker since you cant downshift like a 5speed to get your rpms up and the turbo spooled.
as for everything else, looks like you would need the fuel pump, injectors, 2g's need a kit if you were going to go with a turbo like the evoIII 16g. you need a fuel controller (afcII and logger, or dsmlink depending on $$$ and if you have an eprom ecu or not.

Im no dsmwiseman by any means but feel free to PM me any questions and i'll help the best i can. I know what its like to not know anything about these cars and have lots of so-called "dumb" questions.

Hope this starts to point you in right direction. :thumb:

You should start with getting the fuel pump done before moving onto the turbo or you will regret it. I don't see a data logger on your list don't even think about the turbo unitl you own and can operate a logger. When you step up the turbo you should do the injectors and AFC at the same time of you choose this route. Why the MAF translator are you planning on running blow though and venting if not there is no need for it. A simple AFC and injectors will let you tune that bigger turbo.

Now as for the wastegate etc you don't sound that mechanically inclined meaning you probably can't weld and fabricate your own downpipe and you already havea nice unit. So I would suggest an internally gated turbo that feeds to your stock o2 sensor housing. That way everything is fairly bolt on. You can get a nice 50 trim that is internally gated and bolts rigt up to your manifold. Keep in mind the IC pipes etc will also need to be fabricated along with a FMIC to support the bigger turbo. If you do it best bet is to get the turbo FMIC and piping and all at once from one place for a guaranteed fit. If your like me you go buy some bends weld it up and make your own :thumb:

Also I forgot with the auto, you will NOT spool a 50 trim turbo on the stock torque converter I could barely spool a 14b so anything larger IE 16g you may have a tough time if planning to launch the car. I would also look into the translab shift kit or VB from IPT.

well i guess i shoulda posted what i was acutally planning first so here it is -
get the fuel management kit with the Walbro 255 lph hp pump(re-wired)/S-AFC II/and FIC 650cc ball-style injectors, then get a decent FMIC, and that should prep me enough for the T04B kit. Hows that sound?

dang that so huh, so you think that a shit kit and the Custom High-Stall Torque Converter would help resolve that problem, or just stick with smaller turbo, mb a ported evo III?

and yes spidy3, id like to have it as a very streetable daily driver with track qualities :\

screw a small blower.

You have an auto, use it!

Remember the Grand National? Wanna know why they were so fast? Cause they came with a Garrett TA34 Turbo and a auto trans!!! The turbo is large enough to flow 400 HP and the tranny enables all that big-turbo boost to be constantly flowed, with no blow off through-out the run!

So. Get a stall-converter, fuel upgrades, FMIC, and a logger, then get the 50-trim or bigger turbo to get that auto whippin some 5-speed ass! :sneaky:

If I did it again and I had an auto and didn't want to go internal I would go largest a 16G period thats me. If you want to have to mat the car every time you come to a hill to get the 50 trim to spool some boost thats cool. I hated how laggy and unresponsive it was. However a Stall TQ would have solved this. So that being said you will have to decide really if you don't want to go internal on the stock trans I would avoid a 50 trim size turbo if you do wanna go internal by all means it does work well.

werd, IPT restall should be at the top of every auto owners list.

That alone will drop a half second from your 60 foot times.......
