I'm sure there are threads out there, etc. but I can't find info I'm needing so please help. 95 gst and it has a Garrett M10 turbo (don't know what it's from, I just got the car) .48 in .49 out. I'm maxing out at like 10 or maybe 11 pounds of boost. I would like to get to maybe 15 (think that is still really safe). I've removed the restrictor in the control solenoid and even by-passed it. When I got this car it was hooked up all wrong and was pegging my boost gauge (20 plus). Please don't yell at me for this post. :ohdamn:

Ok. I'll start shopping. Any thoughts on max boost? 16-17 maybe? Pretty much all stock except intercooler and bov. Supposedly rebuilt and bored 30 over but I don't think it was. On that subject... Any way to tell about being bored?

don't go over 15, I think the stock fuel system can only handle 16 psi. someone chime in if I'm wrong.

nope your correct! Its 15-16 psi on the stock injectors and fuel pump.

Just get a MBC and turn it up
And pull your head off haha. That way you can tell if its over-bored

I just got a logger and even at 15 lbs have seen some reasons for me to back off a little so without a logger would not go higher than 14 lbs to be safe and that's generally the advice that's given. Yes stock 450 injectors on a completely stock car CAN run up to 16 or 17 lbs but without a logger to see what's going on it's bad news and you can ruin a good motor in no time.

Will 3 pounds boost added be much difference. Is it worth messing with or should I just wait till I have the cash to do wideband, etc. first? Or will 2-3 be noticeable?

Sure going to 14 lbs from 11 lbs you will notice quite a bit. Get a real boost gauge before doing that because stock can't be trusted to measure anything but stock boost.

I got a cheap sunpro. Pretty soon I'm getting autometer boost, wideband (whatever kind I can get a good deal on) and was thinking oil psi. Any suggestions for brands or anything? And is oil pressure a waste of money? Getting a wideband and new boost atleast.

You can buy EvoScan and a cable. It'll be slow but you can log knock. I'd still get wideband before I turned up boost, but I want my car to last..

I have a Zeitronix ZT-2 Wideband unit in my car and I'm really happy with it. Great bang for the buck so I highly recommend it.

Oil Pressure is nice but Boost and EGT gauges are the two important gauges to have. If you buy the Zeitronix LCD Display with the MAP Sensor and EGT Probe, you will have a complete tuning solution. If you want Oil Pressure as well, you can feed that to the LCD display as well. Read up on it here: Zeitronix : Wideband Engine Datalogging Systems and Accessories
