I was having issues with noisy lifters, so I decided to pull them out and let them soak them in parts cleaner over night. The next morning when I was flushing them with clean oil I noticed that on one or two of them I didn't need to insert a paper clip into the lifter to get it to collapse.

I am assuming that mean those lifters are shot/collapsed?

I have a set of new evo lifters laying around. But, I was saving them for the 6bolt build. I'll throw them in if I need to.

I found the answer to my question by searching a little more. The ones that can be compressed without the paper clip are shot.
