My car for most of its life was garge keept. There are two visable rust spots on the outside. One is in the front passenger side in front of the wheel well to the light. Its only a small amount but is still there. The other is on the rear driver side were the bumper mets the fender behind the wheel well. I plan and having them cut and rewelded but all my money is going into getting my engine to work right. The rear has eaten through already. Is there a way to slow down the rust untill i can afford to have it removed? Its beeing keept outside now cause my moms boyfriend got a new car and took the DSM's spot. Also i got some underside rust but its not to bad, would wirebrushing it off then rubbercoating fix that?

would i be able to get a fender off a car from the junkyard and use that on mone instead of using a bodyshop

Yes, but understand that fitting fenders takes a lot of time, no two fenders/cars will fit the same.

How bad is it? If it isnt that bad you dont need to replace the fender, You should only need to replace anything if it is pretty much rusted through. I used this rust remover on my car last weekend. It worked great. I will check what it is called and who makes it when I get home. But you could use that, prime, glaze if you have to, and refinish.

I've always used this stuff here.
Ospho
It is not very expensive as seen here.
Ospho 1G Metal Treatment
I know it works good.
If you have to swap to a new fender, it isn't very hard.
Just don't bolt it down tight, until you've checked all the clearance around the door, hood, etc.

edit: I like how it says 1G Metal treatment, LOL 1 gallon.

my front rust spot is tiny, but my rear ate throught and there is a hole now:(

Just sand the front and refinish. The rear I think your best bet would be to cut the spot out and weld in a small patch on that area.

ok so in other words i would have to get the back done at a shop, i dont know how to rust or weld

^i ment cut and weld^

If that is the case they yes, your best bet would be a shop. It shouldn't be *too* expensive either. Just a couple hundred tops I would say.
