I just purchused a replacement sensor and i noticed that the bolt holes are slotted, so im wondering how to set it in the right position..

Idle? Are you sure you have the right sensor? And actually it isn't a sensor at all. It's an idle speed controller. It's a stepper motor controlled by the ecu. It simply bolts on and you adjust elsewhere not by physically moving it's mounts which I don't think is possible. In fact I know it isnt as it has an oring seal in a hole. Post a pic.

I think you are talking about the throttle position sensor. That's the only sensor on the throttle body that has a slotted mounting hole. It needs to be set according to the factory shop manual. You will need a multimeter to test for continuity as you rotate the sensor.

I used a mini socket set from Craftsman that has zero issues getting that bottom bolt. I bought it specifically for this purpose.

I calibrated mine using Link personally. But for those that don't have it (or wish to do it the official way), see above.

If you have ecmlink, it's easy to set the TPS. You want it to be .63 volts at idle.
