Ok, i have a 95 eclipse gs and most of my suspension bushings are worn out on me. I know for a fact that my rear upper control arm to knuckle bushings are toast, causing my tires to wear out prematurely. Anyways, i obviously need to replace those rear bushings but i would like to do all of them while i am at it since i know some of my front bushings are busted as well. Is it possible to do this without a press or will it be a much wiser choice to just take the parts into a machine shop and have the bushings pressed out/in? Anyone that has been in my boat let me know. I would much rather save the money doing it myself but don't want to waste my time if it will be a TOTAL pita.

Don't wanna come in here and take the spotlight!

But i'm curious what kind of task it would be to change the control arm bushings
in my 1993 talon tsi awd.

Mine are pretty shot as well.

I dont know about the 2G's,but i never had to press mine in/out. I just knocked the old ones out, and smacked the new ones back in. I got the master kit for my 1G,and the only bushings that were hard were the front sway bar bushings. I had to trim the bushings and unbolt the bar from the endlinks.

I just did this yesterday. The control arms are not to bad. You just take off 4 bolts it pivots on and the one going through the knuckle connecting the control arm to it. To take out the old bushing use a torch to burn the old rubber one, then you can smack it with a hammer. There are 2 metal sleeves, 1 on the inside which is obvious and a small one that goes around the outside of the bushing. Make sure you get them both or the new one's will never go in. You can use a pair of channel locks to put the new one's in, but It's much easier with a vice. You can buy a kit from energy suspension $95 shipped, that's what I did. Beware these are the easier ones to replace. The knuckle one's are a bi***. Good Luck
