how to check base timing with a 2g/6 bolt?

ive searched and cant figure it out, maybe i just need it drawn out for me

how do i check my base timing, i have a 91 CAS

A timing light/gun. Found at Sears and such, automotive stores, etc.

And yoru timing must be grounded. Do you have dsmlink v2?

You have to run a positive wire to a pigtail on the firewall. There is a brown triangle ( i think) pigtail that is just to the left of your throttlebody. It should be kinda tucked back in there and a little cover over it. Connect positive while at idle. And you will hear it drop then shot the crank.

He might not have that plug. If I'm not mistaken, that's a '95 thing...He wouldn't understand.

Thats cool. I didn't know that. Its was there on mine and my 3 friends w/2gs that I timed. And now you mention I they were all 95'. I might have to go pop the hood on my brothers 99'.

I've got a 97 with 1g cas. Tell me what you find in the 99.
