How much will a SAFC-II help me if i am n/t? I was just curious if it will help with fuel mileage or will it give me any more hp? thanks for any input

Please fill out your mod list in your profile, it helps us alot when helping you.

Im gonna go ahead and say it depends on your mods first off. Stock, an safc isntg going to do much for anything for your ride, except allow you to lean it out a tad and MAYBE get a tad bit more power, but nothing to scream about.

Its going to help you the most when you have alot more air riding into your motor. Im getting ready to get one myself, but i waited until i had the CAI, exaust, headers, no cat, fuel pump, and the 75 shot of n20. If your mods a similar then yes, an safc will help you tune the air/fuel for maximum power to compensate for the mods, and having a n20 preset is also a good idea to get the most bang-for-your-buck as well. Run lean normally, then richen it up a tad for the nitrous. You can never be to safe.

Even then though, youre only going to get so much power. however an safc is completly neccessary if you decide to go turbo later on.

If im mistaken anywhere above, someone feel free to correct me, im learning through helping as much as i can :D

If your stock n/t, it will do nothing for you.

If your semi modded n/t, it wiull do nothing for you.

I should talk tho... I put the the original in my n/t before going turbo cuz it looked cool. LOL

sorry guys here are my mods:

test pipe

ya if you tune it right it will help you. you have a little more NA mods then me. i always change my settings to the other untuned data file when i unhook my battery, just so the computer doesnt re-learn any fuel curves with the corrections on. but i will tell you i can notice a difference when i put my settings back on. and if i can notice a difference then there is a difference, cuz i can never notice changes. my butt dyno doesnt work. i didnt notice anything for my intake, my exauste, and a little bit for my udp. but i can tell with the s-afc when my settings are on and off.

Yea, with those mods your gonna see a LITTLE improvement. Its going to show on a dyno at anyrate. The 2gnt eclipse runs rather rich from the factory, leaning it out a bit will help.

With an intake, header, headerback exhaust & udp. I put my afc-2 on. When i dyno tuned the afc i gained 9whp...Would like to say i was running a bit rich, but ya it helped me out

okay, i've heard of guys getting around 9whp (w/supporting mods) from leaning out their cars. i just installed the s-afc II, and i was wondering if anyone has some of their settings or knows where i can find some, that way i dont lean it out too much. w/ not having my wideband hooked up yet i dont want to start messing with it not knowing my a/f ratio. i'd rather go by someone elses settings that has been proven.

dont do that, every car is different. wait until you get your wideband set up.

i have my wideband, i just havent hooked it up yet. anyways, do you know of any settings that people have tried? i'm just curious to see what some people have done. just to get some ideas.

i don't have any settings for you all i can tell you is don't do it without a wideband and a dyno to tune with an afc or a long strech of road :p .don't lean your car out unless you know about tunning.you can really f#$% up youre car.just my .02

completly stock.....if you can learn how to tune it properly it will give you 2-5hp
since i've read a ton of power page articles and they always use the SAFC for testing on N/A cars for example i've seen like the MR-S it gained 3hp or a 1995 nissan 240sx that gained 6hp with proper tuning. If you do not know how to tune it....save yourself the money
