Hi,

I have heavily upgraded my motor, my suspension, and everything that I need, despite the transmission.

Currently my car is producing 576,7 wcv and 460 ft/lbs of torque running on straight pump alcohol. If any information is required I have update my profile, please check. My car is a 2g DSM 7bolt 2.3L with GT35R and AEM EMS.

How much power can my transmission handle? Still there is plenty room for more power (still I’m only running 22psi), however I'm afraid to destroy my trainny.

Are there tips & tricks on how to make some basic change in order to work with high horse power car? Or the only solution is to buy the Sheppard transmission upgrade?

Which is the part the usually break? What changes should be performed?

In the future I intend to put my car on the race track with slicks, although my main goal is a daily driven.

I can tell you that when I sent my tranny to Shepherd for a rebuild, the second gear is what took the most damage. I actually had a local shop rip it apart for me and diagnose what was wrong with it while I was putting in a clutch. They told me the only thing wrong was the second gears teeth, and estimated me about $1200 just for a new second gear, bearings, seals, and putting it back together. Thats when I sent it to Shep and had it built better for about the same price.

Ohhhhh, you're going to break things. Better get 2 or 3 transmissions on stand by. I don't promise too many things, but I promise you will break transmissions and if you have it, transfer cases and rear differentials. They will handle the power, but only so many times. Even Shep breaks things. But I bet he has a few on hand for the occasion.

Don't despair. It will make a better driver/mechanic out of you. Just don't expect 600 horsepower to never give you problems.

Good Luck

Thanks all you guys for your tips.

The main problem that I'm facing today is that I live and Brazil and I would like to purchase the Sheppard transmissions parts, however he refused to sell me only the parts so I can assembly here with my team. He only wants to sell the entire Job.

What I want is a Sheptrans FWD Stage 2, but only the parts. Also forgot to mention that my eclipse is a GS-T.

If I purchase a new transmission (Which was the only option that Sheppard gave to me), the main problem is to ship to here, usually we have to pay 2.3 times the price of the product in taxes for international products, which is a lot.
Yet another problem is for me to find from here a transmission there, that is good there and send to Sheppard.

Does anybody know any reliable vendor that also sells transmissions parts beside Sheppard?

Regards
Felipe

How much would cost a used transmission in US with the entire Sheppard JoB?

I have no idea. It depends on where you get the tranny from, your best bet is looking in classifieds for either a blown tranny or someone parting out their car. Have them ship it directly to Shepherd and you pay the shipping.
