Need to know what the highest safe boost to run with the ported EVOIII 16g on stock pistons and rods? is 18 too much? help

I think 18 is fine if you have proper fuel tuning, just watch the knock. From your profile it looks like you will be okay (SAFC, 550s, 255lph pump). Good luck and if you dont knock too much you will be fine!

without a fmic 17 is pushin it. You can't detect knock without a logger unless you throw a check engine light ... chances are it might be too late then.

ok so untill i get a FMIC i should stick with 16? i was running 18 on the ported 14b. and ive never tuned the car it was tuned by the previeous owner. also what exactly is knock?
