hey ive been working on my eclipse and putting on sum of the basic stuff on it and was wondering how much wheel power and quarter mile times (figure it's stock weight and a fwd) you guys think i would be able to pull off with these parts. Here's a list of everything...

stock t25 turbo
k&n filter
greddy type s blow off valve
greddy front mount intercooler
2.5" downpipe
2.5" testpipe
2.5" catback exhaust
joe p. mbc set at 14 psi (got an a/m boost gauge)

going to be getting new ngk 7's plugs and magnecore 8.5mm wires on this week but i dont think that would make much of a difference.

also it would be great to hear from anyone who has any ideas on what steps i should take next on parts for my engine.

sorry for all these questions...but heres the last one.... my friend who owns an evo drove my car a couple of times to see how it felt and he said that it was running rich... i know if u run it too lean it can hurt the engine but if its too rich you can lose power... is there any way to tell wut im running  ... i dont have an a/f gauge or an afc or nything... so any help would be great.

once again sorry for the endless questions... but any ideas/help would be appreciated
thank you

With the minimal mods, yet a FMIC, you look like you're setting up for a big turbo... The T25 will be your biggest hold up. You might run mid 13's to mid 14's depending on your skill, cars health, and your tires stickyness... Being a GST (FWD) you're never gonna be real fast off the line.

Your next mods should be air pipes (All of them!); fuel pump/afpr; big turbo...

Course you also need a real limited slip diff to help with your wheel spin...

Oh, and your mixture... Get an EGT gauge to monitor exhaust temps... Cheapest bet though is to run a logger or volt meter off the o2 sensor and watch it...

how would monitoring the exhaust temps allow me to tell wether or not im running rich or lean? and i pretty much have all my my air pipes replaced including upper and lower intercooler pipes... the onyl thing that isnt is the stock intake pipe but i heard that even if they are changed they really wont affect that much anyways, unless theres some other pipes that i should change that i can't think of.

As for the mixture my friend before he even drove it said it looked like it was running rich.. i dont know how he determined that.. mabye he could tell by the smell like u mentioned.... but then after he drove it he said again yor def running rich. Sometimes you can smell the gas burning in my garage when i have it sitting there idling... but that could most likely be cause of the straight pipe replacing the cat.

Thanks, for the replies guys.

Pressure test for boost leaks.

i had a problem with them in the past when i first bought the car where it seemed as i would get no power in the upper rpms and it like fuel cut was happening too early (around 4500-5000 rpms) or sumtin... however since then i have replaced all the hoses with new ones and made sure nothing was loose. since then i havent had that problem.

The exhaust temp is directly related to the current engine operating condition. The O2 sensor is indirectly related to it as it's changed by the time the o2 sensor reads it, and furthermore the ECU should constantly be adjusting the air/fuel mixture. I bought a air/fuel gauge once and it was practically useless since it's constantly changing (exactly what the ECU is designed to do).

The exhaust temp on the other hand changes in response to the current condition of the engine. If the temp goes too hot you know you're running off the norm. You can search for more info on how useful this gauge is.

That's not to say a air/fuel gauge is useless, but I'd recommend a logger for that, and a EGT for everyday use.

isn't this bench racing? if the moderators don't think so then my bad. just my 2 cents.

thanks temfate i was actually planning on getting an a/f gauge but lately ive been hearing that they are pretty pointless unless you have wideband o2 sensors so im not sure if i am going to get one. an egt seems like it would be very useful, unfrotunately it just doesnt seem like id be able to afford one anytime soon. i think im gonna wait and save for a new fuel pump, and complete the exhaust system with a new mani and 02 housing.

midnitegsx, my bad if this is considered bench racing, i just wanted to get an overal opinion on wut kinda power i might be able to make on this setup, since money is kinda low and it doest seem like id be getting on a dyno or getting to a track anytime soon. once again my bad if u see it that way.

also other than an safc, wuts another method that can be used to adjust the air fuel mixture if there is one

hey man if ur venting ur BOV then ur definately running rich in between shifts. its just a side effect of venting. the intercooler might be a lil too big for the turbo...the t25 just simply cant flow that much air.

you can expect a low 14 probably with those mods but 13's seems pretty far fetched without a fuel pump/safc.

good luck bro and keep us posted if u ever hit the track

PS: yes this is bench racing, cant believe it hasnt been locked yet.
