How much more air are you flowing with water injection enabled?

Just curious as to how much more airflow your getting at the same psi as opposed to the water injection off? Thanks!

You just need to compare the the value of airflow from the water injection off and the value with it on....

My thought process it that the water cools the air, makeing a more dense charge, at same boost level, wondering how much more airflow with water injection over without water injection. Sorry on the run LOL

That is correct, but the maf sensor doesn't know what's going on after the air has passed through it.

Ya but what you missing is cold air is denser and takes up less space then hot air. So, you can suck in more air at the same psi which is recorded by the maf.

I'm not missing it. I don't think the maf sensor is going to account for the changes made in air density after the air has already passed through the sensor. That's why boost leaks are such a bi*** with these cars. The air density is changing only milliseconds before it enters the combustion chamber, I don't think the maf sensor can account for that.

Airflow-per-Rev is really the only thing that would change, which is effected by VE. Your just asking the question wrong. Measured airflow from the MAF will not change just because the density of the air after MAF has caculated it changes. Though, like i said, VE will increase adding to higher g/rev at the same calculated airflow rate because those two values are caculated after combustion occurs.

If the MAS didn't account for the more dense air, then your air fuel ratio would be leaner with the water injection on. Air flow per rev is uses the MAS reading to help calculate airflow per rev.

May the water just takes up room in the cylinder which doesn't allow the more dense air to fill up.
