i have a very similar setup to you and i got my car tuned by AMS. was hard to get the idle tuned and there were some ruff spots but all in all the car ran well. i ended up change'n everything they did to tune the car in the end, so for me it was a waste of money. i read somewhere that you can tune a car the wrong way and have it set up in a way to produce power but that doesnt mean it was right. thats what i ran into with their tune. if you dont mind me askin how much is that goin to run you to have them tune it? ill almost garuantee with all the info on this site and the people on here you can tune your car as good if not better for way less money. im by far not a pro but that is just my 2 cents. and if you havent already purchased that turbo you might want to think about gettin a bigger one. if you tune the car yourself, you can afford it with the money you save.

What compression pistons? What type of fuel and boost? Also are going to use any cam gears or are they stock. I found it hard to tune the crower cams without the gears for them. Ended up switching them out for the fp2 cams. The fp2 didn't make any more peak power but was able to add a lot more timing through out the gears. Lot more power before 4500 and after 6500.

My poor guess would be: pump 465 hp and 450 tq (22-25 Psi), e85 530 hp and 480 tq (30 psi). Knowing the compression would help.

8.3:1 Compression, Stock Cam Gears, and im assuming im going to do 93 Octane.

AMS will probably run me 2 hours of labor at $235 (?) an hour, which sucks but whatever. I came this far.

If i upgrade to a GT35 will my engine handle it, and what max PSI with these internals on the FP 68HTA? I read this turbo can do 35 psi?

yea the 68 turbo should handle 35psi. I have looked into thoes for my car, but I went with the fpgreen.

in the car. AMS Started the car with all mods the other day. I should be going there tomorrow possibly to pick it up , then i gotta break it in and eventually dyno it.

I dont know that much about the HTA68 turbo...but with that mod list id be going bigger turbo for sure. The problem with the GT35r is the spool time...depends on if you like a little lag, or you want instant power.

I would suggest looking into an HX35 7blade or hx40, they spool a little quicker but can flow as much as the GT35's for a tenth of the price.

When I've built dsm's, I look at cost. 9:1 pistons and a 16g on pump and made 340 awhp on 92 octane. Currently I drive a stock motor e85 16g car and made 405 hp and 425tq. If I was going to build the motor the gt35 would be my first purchase. I have never used any of the holset products so I can't comment on those. In my opinion you should build the car around your desire and then your turbo. good luck.

I thought it said hta86 not 68. low 400's would be a better guess. but don't go by us. You can always add to it later. You will, things will break

I'd get a holset first then if you don't like it sell it off and get some other brand. Holsets are so cheap why not try them first? I got one free from a guy I work with who's friend owns a Honda shop. The idiot at the shop thought he couldn't get a hx35 to make more than 350 but then again he runs a Honda shop so he probably couldn't.
