LOL You haven't ever met a girl that's into cars? I don't know how girls aren't into cars. I've been into cars and motorcycles forever. I can't really work on them myself but I lovvvveeee fast cars and racing them. I wouldn't bi*** at all if my man worked on his car alot. I'm more attracted to guys that are into cars, always have been!
 
This thread turned out exaclty as I thought it would. I can only imagine how many women used the guy's DSM as one of the reasons she was leaving him LOL.

Most women like riding in the car, they like it fine till it breaks. That's when they start getting annoyed, you're spending all your time and money on the car.

Well, what do you think I would do if I bought a new car? Work 3 jobs to pay for it and the insurance, well thenmyou'd really never see me! And are you gonna drive me everywhere I need to go? Can I just jump on your back and you take me to work, honey? No, I didn't think so.

And it's more than just the car itself; fixing it allows you to overcome obstacles and learn to finish things you started! It's not just about the car, it's the never give up, get back on the horse kind of attitude it takes to make it in life!

So tell your girlfriend THAT next time she gets all angry and jealous because you're gonna seafoam your DSM instead of taking her out! LOLLOL

Darn right better get a girl friend that can bake. All i can make is maccaroni and cheese. Its my 1g year away from home going to school. All i have to tell my girl is that im going to make you a delicious meal and she already takes that as a joke, and she knows she always going to cook my food LOL. I always like the part when she cant finish half of her food and i get to eat that too. I think it would be interesting to see a girl that works on cars, but how much do they do? Do they bust their knuckles too. When i cut my hands all to pieces and slip a wrench, im always good about never saying anything, though some people with cus. :)

My girlfriend loves and hates my gsx. She loves that it's got the "get up and go" that her car lacks and loves the way it sounds but hates the Tein suspension on it that gives her all kinds of aches and pains on the horrid PA streets. All in all, she loves it more than hates it so that's a plus. I'm trying to help her buy a 95 gst as we speak.

But yea every girl i've had through the years have not liked the talon LOL. One actually broke up with me cause i was removing my exhaust to install a new one and did not like the fact that i choose the car over her. Oh well:D
 
Geez. I am soooo glad that my gf fully understands that my car(s) are my hobbies. We have had several debates on the project cars. I just tell her I'm old and set in my ways, LOL, if she don't like it. Then buy me an evo x, the cars will be sold....
 
my girlfriend is trying to get into the car.......actually the girlfriend wants to help me out with my car, she knows already that the car is the mistress and that come spring she will see me nowhere as near as much as she is seeing me right now unless she is helping me work on the car.
 
Wether our gf's love or hate our DSM, just remember guys that at least OUR ladies ( DSM ), will never cheat on us. :)
 
My Gf has always loved my cars.

I had a ford focus hatch to begin with. She loved the low ride and tight handling. But boy when i turboed it and spent countless......and i do mean countless hours perfecting every last detail, i got things like "I feel like we drifting apart." Or "you didn't tell me you were leaving to go weld that."

The DSM is well she likes it for the most part. It has let us down a couple times. But for the most part it's been a champ. She has helped pull off my turbo, reinstall spark plugs as well as doing a smidge of painting and up holestry.

I've learned to prioratize between her and the car. When a box arrives she knows theres a VERY big chance she won't see me for many hours. And she's ok with it. She has a fox body stang 4 cyl and ever since she's been with me all she wants to do is mod the hell out of it.

She's more of a go to local shows (music venues), fashion, and such kind of girl. She said it's what drew her to me so strongly. How working on my car coming in drenched in sweat when it was hot, covered in all kinds of car fluids and lubricants, and watching me work was so masculine. They don't have to be into car's for them to be great. Just gotta give them that little nudge in the right direction. Not to mention, she's ready to the stang next summer!!!
 
Im in the middle of a divorce right now from my wife of 2 years, been with her for 3 and 1/2 now though. First day i let her drive my old n/a rs she downshifted coming off the highway from 5th to 2nd....yea so the clutch committed suicide...i dont know how the tranny didnt or the motor after that rpm spike :cry:
Im going to say im pretty sure 1/2 of our arguements were started because she would bi*** at me for spending more money on the dsm then taking her out on dates or buying her this or doing that...the other 1/2 were because i would rather work on the dsm then go sit down at a movie or id rather go to the track then stay at home and cuddle ROFL
 
i think i have an edge on you guys cause i promised her that if she put up with all my "crap" with my car and such that i'd let her drive my newer, yet less modded 01 dakota..... LOL i love bribing her cause it usually works........ she also thinks that the idea of sitting shotgun during autocross would be great

I hear it weekly.

She loves driving it any chance she gets, but she hates how much time I spend working on it. She's 200 miles away at her college, so I'm not sure what's her problem with the time thing. It makes the 3 1/2 hour drive so I can see her at least once a month. When she calls, she usually doesn't have anything in particular to talk about, so I usually end up bringing up what I've recently tweaked on my car. I think she hates that. I could always talk about what I just learned in my fluid dynamics classes :barf:

Still, no matter how much she hates my car, she loves it deep down inside. The sound of that turbo just gets her going.

I've been trying to get her to come to an autoX with me. I told her I'd even let her race in my car instead of her Tarus wagon. She said she's to scared to even ride along with me. :rolleyes: I'll bring her to the dark side one of these days. She really wants a TT 3si though. :mad:

In short, she loves my car but hates the time I spend working on it.
 
Wellll....whats funny is that my girlfriend knows how they are because she has had 3 of them so far going on 4 and she still says i dont spend enough money on her because of my car. But its cool that doesnt start to many fights. Instead of datess and dinner its going outside and working on the cars together hahaha.
 
My situation is horrible.
My girlfriend dated and has a kid for a honda guy. This ricer with all his b series swaps and turbo integras and what have you. Thinks he so fast, funny thing is I toasted his built turbo integra with my stock srt4 at the track (before they broke up and i started dating her......before me and him started beefing). ###got ran a 18 LOL.
So yea, im constantly talkin crap about hondas and stuff.
